Sample interview questions
I would outline the event objective, audience, budget, timeline, vendor plan, sales alignment, and on-site responsibilities. I would then quantify outcomes such as sourced pipeline, influenced pipeline, meetings booked, qualified leads, conversion rates, and lessons applied to the next event.
I establish campaign tracking and lead-capture processes before the event, align follow-up ownership with Sales, and track contacts through defined opportunity stages in Salesforce. I review sourced and influenced pipeline, meeting conversion, opportunity creation, and cost per qualified opportunity against the event investment.
I would use a master event calendar with backward plans, named owners, approval deadlines, budget checkpoints, and risk logs for each program. Regular status reviews with internal stakeholders and vendors help surface dependencies early and protect key milestones.
I would prioritize spend tied to audience quality and pipeline potential, negotiate scope and rates with vendors, and identify reusable assets or lower-cost alternatives. I would communicate trade-offs early, document the decision, and evaluate ROI afterward to improve future budget allocation.
I would begin with a shared event brief covering target accounts, buyer personas, positioning, meeting goals, product story, and success metrics. I would set clear responsibilities for promotion, booth staffing, demos, lead capture, and follow-up, then share a post-event report with results and recommended actions.
About this role.
MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 13,000 customers, including Duracell, McDonald’s, Shell, DHL and Volvo, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.
In August 2026 MaintainX became part of Autodesk, joining Autodesk Operations Solutions, the organization unifying Autodesk’s operations platform alongside Tandem, FlexSim and Fusion Operations. Autodesk’s strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design. Autodesk had design and make. Operate is the phase that tells you what actually happened, and it is ours.
Role Context
This role sits within Marketing, working alongside Sales and Product to make sure every trade show, conference, and webinar builds real pipeline, not just brand awareness. You’ll report to our Senior Manager of Demand Generation and Field Marketing, and be one of the people on the ground making sure our presence at these events actually converts.
The Role
You’ll own event execution end-to-end, from the first vendor call to the post-show report, for the trade shows, launches, and webinars that put MaintainX in front of the frontline-operations buyers who need us most.
Run full-cycle logistics for trade shows, conferences, from venue and vendor selection through on-site execution and teardown.
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product to align every event around one goal: pipeline and revenue, not just attendance.
Manage event budgets and vendor relationships that keep quality high without letting costs creep.
Track performance against pipeline and engagement targets in Salesforce, Asana, and our reporting tools, and turn that data into recommendations for where we show up next.
Build and distribute event marketing materials that stay on-brand and on-message across every touchpoint.
You’ll work closely with our sales and product marketing teams, and within your first 6-12 months you’ll have a track record of events that reps, marketers, and leadership all point to as clearly worth the spend.
About You
Must-haves
3+ years running trade shows, conferences, or field events, ideally at a B2B SaaS company
Ability to quantitatively report on pipeline attribution from events
Comfortable owning an event budget and managing multiple vendor and venue relationships at once
Strong written and verbal communicator who can brief stakeholders and run a room on-site
Organized enough to keep several events moving in parallel without dropping a detail
A data-driven approach – you track what worked, and you say so
Valid passport and the ability to travel roughly 30% of the time across the US and Canada
Nice-to-haves
Experience with CMMS, industrial software, or another startup / entrepreneurial environment
We Offer
Work that shows up in the physical world. What you help launch and promote keeps factories, fleets, and facilities running better.
A product the industry already loves. You’re building on something that already wins, with customers who renew and expand.
Autodesk scale, same mission. Global reach and the resources of a public company, pointed at a problem we were already solving.
A career with real room. Operations is new ground inside Autodesk, and MaintainX is the biggest piece of it.
Values & How We Work
We reward output, not hours logged or hats worn. You’ll get real ownership over how our events show up in the market, and the trust to make the call on the ground. We move fast, have honest conversations early, and expect the same back.
Our mission is to keep the physical world running. Factories, fleets, hospitals and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using. That is what we build.
Compensation and benefits. Base pay is one part of the package. Depending on the role, compensation may also include commission, an annual bonus and equity. Benefits differ by country. For roles in the United States, Autodesk’s benefits are described at benefits.autodesk.com. For roles in Canada and other countries, the plan differs on health coverage, retirement and leave, and your recruiter will walk you through it.
Belonging. We take pride in a culture where everyone can thrive. More at autodesk.com/company/global-belonging. More on where this is going: Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost on building the future of connected operations, and AOS SVP Stephen Hooper on welcoming MaintainX to Autodesk.
