Sample interview questions
I begin by clarifying the product, customer, brand, regulatory, and channel requirements. I develop concept directions, validate structural and production constraints early, then prepare production-ready files with clear specifications. Before release, I review proofs carefully and work directly with printers to resolve issues and protect design intent.
I establish a core global system and identify elements that can flex, such as language hierarchy, imagery, mandatory claims, and regional regulatory content. I partner closely with local stakeholders and legal or regulatory teams, using structured templates and reviews to maintain consistency while ensuring each market is appropriate and compliant.
I define color standards at the outset, use the correct profiles and spot-color specifications, and account for substrate, inks, finishes, and press limitations. I review contract proofs where appropriate, communicate tolerances with suppliers, and document approved production standards for repeatability.
I prioritize information architecture so required content is clear without overwhelming the consumer-facing design. I use hierarchy, typography, whitespace, and structural panels strategically, and involve regulatory partners early to avoid late-stage revisions that compromise the concept.
I create transparent plans with milestones, dependencies, decision owners, and production lead times. I communicate risks early, maintain organized file and feedback systems, and use regular stakeholder check-ins to keep approvals moving while preserving quality and accuracy.

About the Role:
We’re seeking a Staff Graphic Designer to lead packaging and print collateral design that reflects our brand and resonates with our target audiences — across US and international markets. You’ll drive graphic language and strategy across product lines, ensuring consistency and quality across all deliverables while adapting designs for regional markets. Reporting directly to the Director of Packaging Design, you’ll work closely with other designers, regional teams, and production teams to create packaging solutions that are both visually compelling and strategically sound.
You Will:
Design and Development: Lead the conceptualization and design of innovative packaging solutions, from initial concept through final production files, for both domestic and international markets. Create compelling designs and layouts that align with brand identity, consumer expectations, and shelf impact, while staying current on industry trends and emerging design techniques.
Strategy Implementation: Develop and implement packaging strategies that effectively communicate product benefits and differentiate on shelf across global markets.
International & Regional Collaboration: Partner with regional teams to design location-specific packaging and collateral, adapting layouts, imagery, and messaging to meet local market preferences, languages, and regulatory requirements while maintaining global brand consistency.
Production Management: Prepare and manage production files, including dielines, finishes, color, and print specifications, ensuring they meet technical and quality standards across different printers and regional production capabilities. Oversee the production process, including reviewing proofs and attending press checks, to guarantee accuracy and efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production, supply chain, brand, and marketing teams — domestic and international — to ensure designs are feasible, on-brand, and aligned with business objectives. Present concepts and rationale clearly to internal stakeholders.
Vendor Coordination: Communicate with printers and packaging vendors, both domestic and international, to troubleshoot production issues and ensure design intent translates accurately to the final product.
Feedback & Revisions: Manage feedback loops, making timely, thoughtful adjustments to designs based on team input, regional stakeholder feedback, and consumer insights.
Project Management: Maintain timelines, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously — including parallel regional workstreams — with high attention to detail.
You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field.
10+ years of professional design experience, specifically in print and/or packaging.
Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects that show expertise in typographic skills, layout, and emphasis on print design.
Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Figma. Proficiency in Keyshot or another 3D visualization tool is preferred.
Strong working knowledge of packaging materials, printing processes, dieline/structural design, and color management.
Familiarity with regulatory and labeling requirements relevant to our industry, including international/regional packaging and labeling standards.
Experience collaborating with regional or international teams to localize design work is a plus.
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.
Meticulous attention to detail coupled with strong organizational and communication skills.
Creative thinker with the ability to see a project from concept through to execution.
Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):

Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days
Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave
