Sample interview questions
How would you structure a HubSpot discovery workshop for a client with fragmented sales and marketing processes?

I would begin by mapping business goals, target users, current systems, data sources, lifecycle stages, handoffs, reporting needs, and adoption risks. I would document the current and desired processes, identify gaps and integration dependencies, then turn the findings into a prioritized solution design with assumptions, acceptance criteria, delivery phases, and change-control boundaries.

Describe how you would build a reliable integration between HubSpot and an external business platform.

I would first define the system of record, object mapping, data ownership, sync direction, triggers, error handling, rate-limit considerations, security requirements, and monitoring. Depending on the use case, I would use HubSpot APIs and webhooks directly or a middleware tool such as Make, Zapier, or Workato, then test edge cases, document the integration, and establish an operational support process.

What approach would you take to migrate data from a legacy CRM into HubSpot?

I would audit and profile the source data, define a field and object mapping, clean duplicates and invalid values, preserve relationship keys, and plan staged imports or API-based migration. I would validate record counts, associations, ownership, lifecycle logic, and reporting after each test migration before completing the production cutover with rollback and sign-off procedures.

How do you explain a complex technical design decision to non-technical client stakeholders?

I frame the decision around the business problem, expected outcome, risks, cost, implementation effort, and trade-offs rather than technical jargon. I use diagrams, examples, and clear recommendations, confirm stakeholder understanding, and document the agreed decision along with any assumptions and impacts on scope or timeline.

How would you use HubSpot AI features while maintaining quality and governance in a client build?

I would identify specific high-value use cases, such as workflow assistance, record enrichment, sales follow-up, or next-best-action prompts, and define measurable success criteria. I would apply permissions, human-review checkpoints, data-quality controls, and testing before production release, ensuring that AI output supports rather than replaces documented business processes and accountability.

We have a large team of skilled and passionate professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality work for our clients.

Position Overview

Join LevelUp and partner with a premier UK-based HubSpot Diamond Partner dedicated to accelerating the growth of technology companies. They are pioneering AI-first HubSpot architectures—intelligent CRMs that autonomously update from sales calls, propel deals forward, and prescribe the next best actions for sales teams. This is a permanent, fully remote position operating on a UK night shift schedule from the Philippines.

  • Lead comprehensive discovery workshops with clients, translating business requirements into actionable HubSpot solution designs for the build team.
  • Independently engineer technically complex components, including custom-coded actions, programmable automation, custom objects, sophisticated integrations, and HubSpot’s AI features.
  • Spearhead data migrations from legacy platforms and conduct rigorous code and build reviews for junior colleagues.

  • Collaborate on pre-sales activities by scoping and estimating work, and maintain strict change control protocols on active builds.
  • Leverage advanced AI tools to accelerate and optimize the creation of specifications, code, testing protocols, and documentation.

Requirements

  • HubSpot Experience: 4 to 6 years of hands-on HubSpot implementation experience, preferably within a HubSpot Solutions Partner agency or technical consultancy.

  • Solution Design: Proven end-to-end solution design experience—leading discovery, architecting the solution, and managing testing and launch, rather than just executing predefined configurations.
  • Hub Coverage: Extensive mastery of at least three HubSpot Hubs, with deep technical proficiency in Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, and Data Hub (formerly Operations Hub).
  • Complex Builds: Demonstrated ability to execute complex builds involving custom-coded actions, programmable automation, custom objects, calculated properties, and multi-pipeline architectures.
  • Connecting Systems: Strong integration skills using APIs, webhooks, and middleware (e.g., Zapier, Make, Workato) to connect HubSpot with external platforms like email, Slack, and Clay.
  • Client-Facing Work: Exceptional client-facing communication skills, with a track record of leading technical workshops and articulating complex decisions to non-technical audiences.
  • Documentation: Excellence in technical documentation, consistently producing precise solution designs, specifications, and handover notes.
