The role, at a glance.
Roboflow is seeking a Customer Success Engineer to help self-serve and corporate users adopt its computer-vision platform successfully. The role combines technical customer education, webinars, workshops, structured one-to-one enablement, and reusable content development. The engineer will teach dataset management, annotation, model training, evaluation, inference, and platform workflows while turning recurring customer friction into scalable programs. This early function-building hire will collaborate closely with Support, Product, Sales, and Field Engineering and work with US daytime meeting schedules. The position supports remote work in the US but includes required in-person onboarding in New York or San Francisco.

Sample interview questions
I would begin with the customer's use case and define success in practical terms, such as avoiding missed safety hazards versus reducing false alerts. I would then use a small visual example to show how precision measures the reliability of detections, recall measures how many relevant objects are found, and a confidence threshold balances the two. Finally, I would guide the customer through reviewing evaluation results and testing threshold changes on representative data.
I would collect examples from support conversations, webinar questions, and product telemetry to validate the pattern and identify the customer segment affected. I would define the learning objective, create the most appropriate asset or program such as a guide, video, workshop, or onboarding journey, and pilot it with a small cohort. I would measure participation, activation, and follow-up support demand, then iterate based on outcomes.
I would compare production inputs with the training and validation data to identify distribution shifts, annotation inconsistencies, underrepresented cases, or deployment preprocessing differences. I would review confusion matrices, confidence distributions, and concrete false-positive and false-negative examples. I would then recommend a prioritized plan, such as collecting edge cases, improving annotations, creating a new dataset version, and re-evaluating the model against realistic production scenarios.
I would use structured, time-bound sessions for customers with qualifying needs while documenting recurring questions and effective explanations as I go. Repeated themes would be converted into reusable assets and incorporated into webinars or learning journeys. This approach protects customer quality in the short term while steadily reducing repeated demand and increasing self-service success.
I would measure registration and attendance alongside engagement signals such as questions, completion, content usage, and follow-up feedback. More importantly, I would connect the program to product outcomes such as activation, successful completion of core workflows, feature adoption, and reduced repeat support requests. I would compare results across customer cohorts and use the findings to improve program content, format, and targeting.
About this role.
Who We Are
Our mission is to make the world programmable. Sight is one of the key ways we understand the world, and soon this will be true for the software we use, too.
We’re building the tools, community, and resources needed to make the world programmable with artificial intelligence. Roboflow simplifies building and using computer vision models. Today, over 1M+ developers, including those from half the Fortune 100, use Roboflow’s machine learning open source and hosted tools. That includes counting cells to accelerate cancer research, improving construction site safety, digitizing floor plans, preserving coral reef populations, guiding drone flight, and much more.
Roboflow is supported by great customers and investors, having raised over 63 million from Y Combinator, Google Ventures, Craft Ventures, Sam Altman, Lachy Groom, amongst other leading software investors.
Roboflowers are passionate builders who value ownership, accountability, and a bias toward action. We’re curious, hands-on with new tech, and prefer showing our work over talking about it. Many of us have a founder mindset and thrive in our high-autonomy environment.
Who You Are
You are technically curious, customer-focused, and get satisfaction from helping people become capable and confident users of complex technology. You may come from Customer Success, technical enablement, Developer Relations, Support, Solutions Engineering, or another customer-facing technical role.
You enjoy understanding why customers struggle with a product and turning those insights into better ways of teaching thousands of customers — not simply solving the same problem repeatedly.
You are comfortable teaching technical concepts live, creating clear educational content, and guiding customers through unfamiliar workflows. You know when to demonstrate, when to advise, and importantly when to let the customer drive the keyboard.
You look for patterns. If several customers ask the same question, your instinct is not simply to answer it again; it is to create the guide, video, workshop, workflow, or program that means the next customer can answer it themselves.
Empathetic to customer needs and the importance of communicating in remote relationships, you can provide clear and prescriptive guidance while maintaining the boundaries required for a scalable self-service customer experience.
Many Roboflowers have used our tools before joining. One of the best ways to stand out amongst other applicants is to write about something you have built with Roboflow or contribute to one of our open source projects.
We are hiring Customer Success Engineers to help our self-serve and Corporate customers become successful, independent users of Roboflow. You will have direct input on the evolution of this role, the Customer Success Engineering function, and how Roboflow enables an increasingly large community of computer vision practitioners.
If you enjoy teaching technical concepts, building programs and content, and finding scalable ways to help customers succeed, let’s have a chat.
What You’ll Do
Roboflow’s product-led growth customers are building an enormous variety of computer vision applications. Customer Success powers up those customers with the technical knowledge, best practices, and structured enablement they need to expand how they use Roboflow and confidently progress from experimentation into production.
The function operates through two complementary enablement models:
Scalable enablement — recurring webinars, onboarding sessions, technical workshops, clinics, office hours, learning journeys, and reusable educational content designed to help large numbers of self-serve customers progress independently.
Targeted 1:1 enablement — structured, time-bound delivery of the Targeted Enablement Option Pack for qualifying Corporate customers who need additional guidance through core Roboflow functionality.
The objective isn’t to do the customer’s work for them; it is to remove educational friction and give customers the knowledge, tools, and confidence to progress independently.
You will teach customers how to work effectively with datasets, annotations, model training and evaluation, and the wider Roboflow platform. Just as importantly, you will identify recurring points of friction and turn them into programs and reusable assets that can benefit hundreds or thousands of future customers.
Role And Responsibilities
Develop, deliver, and continually improve technical enablement programs for Roboflow’s self-serve customer base, covering platform onboarding, annotation strategy and quality, dataset management, model training and evaluation, workflows and deployments and workspace administration

Identify recurring customer questions and turn them into scalable educational programs or assets
Monitor customer activation and engagement signals to identify users and cohorts who may benefit from specific enablement programs
Measure participation and effectiveness of enablement programs for continual improvement
Collaborate with Product to identify and close recurring knowledge and usability gaps
Stay current with the latest Roboflow product features, releases, workflows, and recommended best practices
Technical Proficiency
Working knowledge of computer vision and machine learning, including datasets, annotation, model training, evaluation, and inference
Comfortable using Python and working with APIs, notebooks, and common developer tooling
Ability to become highly proficient across the Roboflow platform and demonstrate its workflows confidently to customers
Understanding of model evaluation concepts including precision, recall, confidence thresholds, confusion matrices, and common causes of poor model performance
Understanding of dataset quality, annotation strategy, dataset versioning, and approaches for identifying difficult or underrepresented examples
Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for users with varying levels of ML experience
