Sample interview questions
I would begin by reviewing the account history, stakeholder map, usage data, goals, and open issues. In an early discovery session, I would confirm the client's desired outcomes, define measurable milestones, identify risks, and document owners and timelines. I would then align the plan to Submittable capabilities and revisit it during regular business reviews.
I focus first on the client's objectives and adoption gaps rather than leading with a product pitch. If a feature, service, or additional instance clearly addresses a documented need, I explain the expected value and partner with the Account Executive on a consultative recommendation. This keeps the conversation outcome-focused and preserves trust.
I prioritize work based on customer impact, renewal or growth risk, urgency, and agreed commitments. I use a structured CRM workflow and account plans to track next steps, deadlines, and stakeholders, while communicating early if priorities need to be adjusted. I also reserve time for proactive outreach so urgent requests do not displace strategic customer management.
I would avoid jargon and clearly state what the product can and cannot do in relation to the stakeholder's goal. I would explain the business impact, offer any workable alternatives, and set realistic expectations for next steps. If needed, I would involve Technical Support or product specialists to ensure the guidance is accurate.
I would use the review to understand the underlying causes, such as implementation gaps, changing priorities, training needs, or missing stakeholder alignment. I would propose a focused recovery plan with specific adoption goals, enablement actions, owners, and review dates. I would document the risk in Salesforce and coordinate internally where product, support, or executive involvement could improve outcomes.
