Sample interview questions
I start by clarifying the business objective, target users, constraints, and success metrics through stakeholder conversations and existing research. I then map assumptions, prioritize open questions, and create a lightweight journey or flow that gives the team a concrete decision-making artifact.
I design with the content model, templates, editorial workflows, and reusable blocks in mind from the outset. This means defining flexible component states, content rules, and responsive behavior so that editors can maintain consistency without needing custom design work for every page.
I make the underlying goals and tradeoffs explicit rather than treating feedback as isolated preferences. I use user needs, project objectives, evidence, and feasibility constraints to guide a focused discussion and document the resulting decision clearly.
Depending on the project stage, I provide user flows, annotated wireframes, interaction specifications, component behavior, edge cases, and responsive states. I also stay available during implementation to resolve questions quickly and protect the intended experience.
I define success measures early, such as completion rate, conversion, engagement, navigation success, or support-volume reduction. After launch, I combine analytics, usability feedback, and stakeholder observations to identify what improved and what should be iterated.

Fueled is a leading digital strategy, design, and engineering agency. We are a 300+ person team that has designed and built hundreds of digital products and experiences for brands like Google, Apple, The New York Times, ESPN, Victoria’s Secret, MGM Resorts, Albertsons, and CLEAR.
As a UX Designer at Fueled, you’ll thrive by embracing ambiguity and turning it into an opportunity. You’ll use each new problem as a chance to build something meaningful, collaborate with a cross-functional team, and prioritize action that moves projects forward. By creating thoughtful solutions, supporting great work across the team, and staying curious, you’ll make an impact that’s felt by users, clients, and your peers.

What you will do:

- Collaborate closely with UX, design, and engineering teams to define scope, clarify priorities, and make smart tradeoffs that protect the user experience.
- Translate ambiguous business goals into clear user journeys, IA, and interaction models that teams can confidently build from, while developing UX patterns and design foundations that improve consistency and accelerate delivery.
- Help facilitate alignment across client stakeholders and internal teams by guiding workshops and turning competing inputs into actionable decisions, supported by easy-to-understand deliverables.
- Leverage real CMS experience—ideally WordPress—to design effectively within the structure of content models, templates, and reusable blocks.
What you will achieve:
- Deliver UX work that improves real product outcomes, such as higher conversion, stronger engagement, clearer navigation, or smoother onboarding experiences.
- Create clarity early by turning open questions into structured flows, priorities, and decisions that teams can build with confidence.
- Ship work you’re proud of, raising the bar for usability, polish, and thoughtful interaction design across client projects.
- Strengthen collaboration across teams by improving how clients, product, design, and engineering align and move forward together.
- Grow as a UX Designer through feedback, iteration, and working closely with a tight team of people who care about craft.
About you:
- You have a few years of experience designing digital products and UX work across complex web and/or mobile experiences, including hands-on work within content management systems (WordPress strongly preferred).
- You thrive in busy environments and know how to bring structure, clarity, and momentum without overcomplicating the process.
- You ask great questions early and aren’t afraid to seek input, challenge assumptions, or pull in the right people to get to the best outcome.
- You collaborate naturally across disciplines, building strong relationships with clients, product teams, and engineers to keep work moving forward.
- You have a track record of shipping work you’re proud of, delivering thoughtful, polished UX that improves usability, engagement, or conversion.
