Sample interview questions
Describe a NetSuite finance-systems implementation or major optimization you led.

I would explain the business problem, map the affected finance processes, gather requirements with stakeholders, configure and test the solution, manage change controls, and measure post-launch outcomes such as reduced manual work, improved close accuracy, or faster billing.

How would you manage segregation-of-duties risks in NetSuite?

I would maintain role-based access, conduct regular access and SOD reviews, document conflicts and mitigations, remove unnecessary privileges promptly, and retain auditable evidence of approvals and remediation in line with SOX and ITGC requirements.

What is your approach to troubleshooting a failed NetSuite integration with Salesforce?

I would first assess the business impact and contain any downstream data issues. Then I would review integration logs, payloads, field mappings, authentication, scripts, and recent changes; reconcile records between systems; correct the root cause; test the fix; and document preventive controls.

How do you prioritize competing finance-system enhancement requests?

I use a transparent intake and scoring process based on compliance risk, revenue and close-process impact, user reach, urgency, effort, dependencies, and strategic value. I align priorities with Finance and IT leadership, maintain a visible roadmap, and communicate trade-offs clearly.

How would you improve an order-to-cash process spanning CPQ, NetSuite ARM, billing, and collections?

I would map the end-to-end process and data ownership, identify manual handoffs and reconciliation points, define target-state controls and metrics, and phase improvements around the highest-risk or highest-volume bottlenecks. I would validate requirements with Sales Operations, Finance, Legal, and IT before implementing controlled workflow, integration, and reporting changes.
