Sample interview questions
I would first clarify the business outcome, affected users, approval rules, data sources, and reporting needs. I would document the current and desired process, assess native configuration versus customization or integration, and validate the proposed design with stakeholders. I would then test the solution in a non-production environment, prepare release documentation, and monitor the outcome after deployment.
I would establish clear ownership for key records, apply role-based access controls and approval workflows, and use validation rules to prevent incomplete or inconsistent data. I would also maintain audit trails, periodically review permissions and critical configurations, and work with finance and operations teams on reconciliation and exception processes.
I would prioritize native functionality when it meets requirements because it is generally easier to support and upgrade. For a custom approach, I would evaluate business value, security, maintenance cost, performance, API limits, failure handling, and the impact on future platform releases. The final decision should be documented and agreed with both technical and business owners.
I use concise written requirements, visual process flows, and clearly defined acceptance criteria to create shared understanding. I schedule focused discussions for open decisions, provide regular status updates, and demonstrate working solutions early so stakeholders can give practical feedback. I also document decisions and ownership to keep distributed teams aligned.
I would first assess impact and determine whether a safe workaround is needed. Next, I would review recent configuration or deployment changes, execution logs, record data, permissions, and integration status to isolate the cause. After validating a fix in a controlled environment, I would deploy it through the change process, confirm recovery with users, and document preventive actions.
