Sample interview questions
I have translated and/or edited patent materials for at least two years, with a focus on retaining the source text's technical meaning, legal precision, and consistent terminology in Greek.
I review client glossaries and reference materials first, build or maintain a termbase in the CAT environment, and run final consistency checks for repeated claims, component names, units, and technical expressions.
I would assess the term in its claim and specification context, consult reliable domain references and prior approved translations, and raise a concise query when ambiguity could affect technical or legal meaning.
I am comfortable using CAT-tool workflows for translation, review, terminology management, and QA, and I can use JIRA to track assignments, questions, status updates, and delivery requirements.
I plan work around the deadline, translate in structured batches, perform targeted QA on terminology and numbers, and communicate early if a source issue or clarification is needed so that quality is not compromised.
