- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or Pulumi) and CI/CD systems
- Skilled in scripting or programming (e.g., Bash, Python, or Go)
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technical initiatives and drive adoption of best practices
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architecture beyond your immediate team
- Clear, direct communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Nice to have:
- Experience working in multi-cloud environments
- Familiarity with internal developer platforms, service mesh, or API gateway patterns
- Knowledge of cloud compliance frameworks and security best practices

Sample interview questions
I would establish a management-group hierarchy aligned to environments and business domains, use separate subscriptions for workloads and shared services, and apply Azure Policy for guardrails. Centralized identity, logging, networking, and security services would be deployed through reusable Terraform or Pulumi modules, with clear ownership and least-privilege access controls.
I would begin with workload criticality, dependency mapping, and explicit RTO/RPO requirements. I would then select appropriate replication, backup, failover, and data-consistency patterns; automate recovery where possible; and validate the design through recurring recovery exercises, documented runbooks, and measurable restoration results.
I provide paved-road solutions that make secure and compliant choices the easiest choices, such as self-service templates, opinionated modules, and automated policy checks. Teams retain flexibility for genuine exceptions, but exceptions should have a lightweight review process, clear ownership, and a plan to prevent unnecessary platform fragmentation.
I would apply workload identity, least-privilege RBAC, network segmentation, image scanning and signing, secrets management, admission controls, and continuous audit logging. I would also standardize cluster baselines, patching, observability, and policy-as-code so security controls remain consistent across clouds.
I would identify high-friction workflows, such as provisioning a compliant service environment, and replace manual ticket-based work with a self-service workflow. This could include a versioned infrastructure template, automated CI/CD validation, default monitoring and security integrations, and clear documentation, while tracking adoption time and deployment reliability as success metrics.
