Professional Counsellor

I am Ingrid MA Akkermans, a dedicated and experienced professional counsellor with a strong background in orthopedagogic counselling and multicultural stress counselling. Over the years, I have developed my skills through various educational programs and practical experiences, including my current studies at CLT/KULeuven and my graduate degree from AP Antwerp. I am passionate about supporting individuals and communities through therapeutic practices and coaching.

My work experience spans multiple roles, including customer care at Coolblue, coordination and management positions, and running my own therapeutic practice since 2003. I have a proven track record in managing teams, supporting staff and volunteers, and providing tailored counselling services. I am also experienced in recruitment and client relationship management from my time at DRA Recruitment Agency.

I am fluent in Dutch, German, and English, with additional proficiency in French. My multicultural background and language skills enable me to connect with diverse clients effectively. I am committed to continuous personal and professional growth, as demonstrated by my recent spiritual journeys and physical challenges.

I am certified by several professional associations, including the Belgian Professional Association for Therapists and Coaches (BBTC) and the International Association for Counselling (IAC). My goal is to continue making a positive impact in the field of counselling and coaching, helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals.

I am open to full-time opportunities where I can utilize my counselling expertise, coordination skills, and passion for helping others. I am based in Belgium and hold Dutch nationality, with legal permissions to work in Spain as well. I look forward to contributing my knowledge and experience to a dynamic and supportive work environment.
