I am Karem Ghanim, an Economist and Philosopher with a strong academic background in contemporary philosophy and development economics. I hold a double master's degree from ULisbon and ULille, where my thesis focused on probability interpretations and the reference class problem. My academic journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of economic theories and their practical applications. I have also completed a master's degree in Development Economics at Université Clermont Auvergne, where my research investigated the impact of translation on culture and economic development.
Throughout my studies, I have developed a keen interest in the intersection of economics and philosophy, particularly how economic theories can inform our understanding of societal issues. My bachelor's degree from Birzeit University, where I majored in Economics and minored in Philosophy, further solidified my analytical skills. My thesis on the dynamics between wages and productivity showcased my ability to conduct economic analysis, both theoretically and using rigorous econometric methods. .
In addition to my academic studies, I have gained practical experience through various roles. As a freelance multimedia translator, I worked on translating and subtitling documentary footage, through which i developed my language skills and attention to detail. My internship with UNDP provided me with valuable insights into data entry and administrative support within a significant project focused on human rights and gender justice.
I have also volunteered as a field interviewer for poverty alleviation initiatives, gathering data from families facing economic hardships. My role as a research assistant allowed me to assist professors in economic research, enhancing my data collection and analysis skills. Furthermore, I was involved in a fellowship program that emphasized research, training, and mentorship.
I am passionate about using my skills and knowledge to contribute to meaningful projects that address social and economic challenges. I believe that my unique combination of academic and practical experiences positions me well to make a positive impact in the fields of economics and philosophy.
