My current work combines upstream contributions with two independently owned Rust projects. Fastmash is a command-line tool intended to replace GNU datamash, with compatibility testing and workload-specific performance evaluation. Ripscope is a source-navigation tool targeting cscope compatibility, with persistent indexing and editor integration under development. Both projects are private and unreleased.
Selected merged contributions include a compiler-transform optimization in SWC, GnuPG compatibility tests in Jujutsu, and the new feature "DeepTutor Doctor" in DeepTutor, which eases the AI setup and redacts sensitive information.
I use AI-assisted development, including code generation, testing and review. For my own projects, I define requirements and specification, guide architecture, direct implementation, and resolve validation and review findings; upstream contributions also receive maintainer review.
Current technical focus: Rust. Earlier applications used Java, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, HTML/CSS and VBA; Python contributions include DeepTutor. Database experience includes MySQL, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
Earlier, I developed business software for Toyota Asker & Bærum and a legislative-text web application prototype for Norway's Ministry of Justice. At the European Parliament, I worked on business analysis and software delivery, coordinating an international development team. My wider background includes research, university teaching, project management and entrepreneurship. I hold a PhD in Information Systems and an MBA.
Based in Essen, Germany, I'm looking for full-time, hands-on software development work, preferably remote and in an English-speaking team. Rust is my current focus, and I'm open to other languages. I'm comfortable with work travel, including monthly if needed, and would consider office attendance one day per week for a role within two hours of Essen.
