Senior Backend Engineer

I design and maintain relational data models, PostgreSQL schemas, backend services, API contracts, and technical specifications for a distributed event-management platform. I document OpenAPI/Swagger request and response schemas, validation rules, required fields, endpoint behavior, and service contracts.

I contribute across backend and frontend development, testing, code review, technical interviewing, feasibility research, and data extraction workflows. I helped transition the platform from Firebase to AdonisJS and NestJS, built messaging and notification microservices, automated DevOps across more than 10 repositories with Terraform and GitLab CI, and served as an unofficial interim CTO and technical lead for four months.

I co-founded an agritech software company delivering farm management, supply-chain management, and analytics solutions for agricultural stakeholders. I led product planning, transformed market research and customer feedback into business logic, and converted ambiguous requirements into backend architectures, data models, database schemas, and API specifications.

I managed cloud infrastructure and technical spending, wrote backend tests, performed quality assurance and code reviews, and hired and trained developers. I helped raise $50,000 in seed funding, secured $15,000 in AWS credits, and developed the company’s first Ruby on Rails backend API for farm management.

I led the mobile team and brought the FooFans.com mobile client to market. I created and maintained the Android application and developed the API that supplied and manipulated application data on the server.

I completed the company’s first mobile API in PHP and delivered a stable Android social media application.

I worked as a web developer at an IT consultancy, supporting existing customer websites and contributing to ongoing web projects. I redesigned and maintained client websites, developed new customer sites, and created prototypes for project bids.

I also wrote technical documentation for tenders and researched technologies for upcoming work, including HTTPS, encryption, and private-server solutions.

I mentor approximately 80 learners across Africa studying mobile web technology through Udacity. I support learners as they develop skills toward Nanodegree-level outcomes.

I provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support to help participants progress in their software development journeys.

I create online videos that teach people how to code and share my ongoing software engineering journey.

My content is focused on education, developer growth, and practical software development learning.

Conducted MSc research on hybrid recommender systems under Professor Mohamed Hamada of the University of Aizu. Built a hybrid recommender combining content-based filtering and collaborative filtering using Pearson correlation, deployed on a Java Tomcat server with an Android client.
