Great Minds® was founded in 2007 by a group of education leaders committed to advocating for a more content-rich, comprehensive education for all children in the United States. It operates as a public benefit corporation and a subsidiary of a nonprofit organization, focusing on creating exemplary instructional materials that combine joyful rigor with in-depth knowledge.

The organization’s mission is to make the world a more knowledge-rich place by supporting educators with top-tier curriculum materials and implementation services across various subjects including math, English language arts, science, and history, spanning Pre-K through 12th grade. These curricula are designed to be knowledge-driven, coherent, and grounded in research-based instructional methods, accommodating all learners such as striving readers, students with dyslexia, and English language learners.
