Non-contiguous contract projects: I collaborate with a cross-section of professionals, providers, stakeholders, and consumers across the Washington DDA to update and write the 40 hour core curriculum training and also the 5 hour Orientation and Safety that is required by all employees in the DDA service system across the states. Core purpose of the update is to tie more strongly to the wishes of the people with disabilities whom we support, and to be flexible and agile with learner needs in virtual, in-person, and blended formats. I started as a steering committee member and quickly became a team leader, and then a hand-selected task force member to conduct the actual curriculum development.
