My name is Gianfranco Semeraro and I am a Data Scientist with a solid academic and operational background in Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Process Mining. I completed my PhD in βSustainable Development and Climate Changeβ (Technology and Territory curriculum) in January 2025, during which I developed intelligent models for decision support in Public Administration.
In the course of my studies, I had the opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary research projects and peer-reviewed scientific publications, as well as to collaborate as a visiting researcher at RWTH Aachen in Germany, in the group led by Prof. Wil van der Aalst, an international reference in the field of Process Mining. I also gained applied experience in corporate contexts, such as in collaborations with Pirelli and INNOVAPUGLIA, where I implemented solutions based on Machine Learning for the optimisation of production processes and the analysis of complex spatial data.
My technical skills include the advanced use of Python, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, SQL, and Process Mining tools (ProM, Celonis). I am able to design end-to-end data analysis pipelines, build robust predictive models, and contribute to the research and development of new data-driven methodologies. I have a natural inclination for experimentation and continuous improvement, elements that I consider central to working in an R&D team.
I am looking for a challenging environment where I can bring my skills and continue to grow in the field of applied research and data science and process mining applications, contributing to technological innovation with intelligent, interpretable and effective solutions. My interest in Process Mining, fuelled by specific certifications and international experience, and Data Science now represent a strategic directions that I intend to deepen and consolidate professionally.
