Fibre Optic Designer/ OSP Engineer

I am a detail-oriented professional with expertise in Civil 3D, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD, complemented by strong project planning skills and a deep understanding of fibre optic planning. I demonstrate creativity in designing and excel in time management, ensuring efficient project execution. I am proficient in ArcGIS and Microsoft Office, aiming to leverage my technical skills to contribute to innovative engineering solutions.

Currently, I work as a Fibre Optic Planner at KC Pinnacle in Fourways, South Africa, where I review colleagues’ drawings to identify errors and provide improvement recommendations. I enhance plans according to Civil Engineer’s specifications and complete drawings utilizing Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Google Earth. I also execute DOT permits in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and integrate utilities from Utility as-builts to ensure accuracy. My role includes onsite experience which has strengthened my practical skills.

Previously, I worked as a Fitter Aid at Sulzer Hydromining in Glenharvie, South Africa. There, I followed strict health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment, diagnosed malfunctions in equipment for efficient repair, and repaired complex machinery by following precise technical diagrams. I installed assemblies onto systems after finalizing assembly preparation processes and operated manual and automated tools, maintaining optimal performance levels.

I hold a Certificate of Higher Education in Multi-Disciplinary Draughting from the Academic Institute of Excellence, South Africa, and a National Senior Certificate from Hoërskool Fochville. I have also earned multiple certifications including Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, 3D modelling with Fusion360, Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Advance Steel, Fundamentals of Project Management, and SolidWorks Essentials.

I am fluent in English and a native speaker of Afrikaans. Outside of work, I enjoy rugby, fishing, staying fit, and spending time with family and friends. I am committed to continuous professional development and eager to contribute my skills to challenging engineering projects.
