I am Laia Sorribes Graells, a dedicated Data Engineer currently working at Security Outliers in Arlington, USA. I specialize in designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using cloud technologies such as AWS Glue, Athena, and Google Cloud. My work focuses on reducing client cloud costs through efficient data routing and storage optimization, leveraging tools like Cribl. I have a strong background in building interactive dashboards with Power BI and Tableau to enable real-time KPI monitoring and support data-driven decision-making for non-technical stakeholders.

My expertise includes modeling data warehouses using star and snowflake schemas, implementing data quality validation frameworks, and automating data workflows with Python, SQL, and Bash scripting. These efforts have significantly reduced manual reporting time and improved operational efficiency. In addition to my professional experience, I am pursuing advanced education in data science and cybersecurity, currently enrolled in MSc programs at the Immune Technology Institute in Madrid and King’s College London. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Technologies and Services Engineering from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, where I completed a thesis on antenna analysis using MATLAB.

I am also a professional athlete, competing as a Canoe Slalom athlete for the Real Federación Española de Piraguismo since 2016. I have represented Spain in multiple international competitions, earning medals at European and World Championships. This athletic discipline has honed my strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

I am certified in various cloud and data engineering technologies, including Google Cloud Data Engineer, AWS Athena, AWS Glue, and multiple Cribl certifications. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Catalan, and proficient in programming languages such as C, Java, SQL, and Python. My software toolkit includes security and data analysis tools like Burp, SSH, WebGoat, John the Ripper, BeEF, Maltego, Apktool, Radare, Volatility, FTK, Metasploit, KLEE, PowerBI, and Tableau.
