I am a marine geoscientist and oceanographer with extensive experience in geophysical data collection, marine research, and oceanographic analysis. My background combines field operations, technical data processing, and scientific reporting across commercial, government, and academic environments.
In my role as a Marine Geoscientist at APTIM, I conducted data collection and analysis using side scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, magnetometers, bathymetric systems, and core methods for mineral resource exploration. I also processed and interpreted datasets with tools such as SonarWiz, GeoSuite, HYPACK, and ArcGIS Pro, and I prepared comprehensive reports and packaged data products.
Previously, I worked as a Research Associate at the University of Southern Mississippi, where I conducted oceanographic research using a variety of instruments and datasets. I supported studies related to northern Gulf fluviometric systems and sea-level rise, developed marine snow flux cameras for deep-water moorings, and analyzed imagery using Image-Pro software.
My experience also includes hydrographic surveys, vessel maintenance, and the deployment and operation of underwater vehicles. I have published findings in peer-reviewed journals and have contributed to research efforts involving both blue water and littoral environments.
Earlier in my career, I served as a Naval Aviator in the United States Navy. In that role, I operated twin-jet carrier-based aircraft, supervised personnel, coordinated with security teams, and managed flight and training operations in high-stakes environments.
I hold advanced academic training in geological oceanography, including a doctorate and a master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, along with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Memphis. My work is centered on marine science, technical analysis, and the effective use of advanced instruments and autonomous systems.
