TheΒ Cloud EngineerΒ is responsible for the design and development of cloud architectures, solutions, and migration strategies to support Paymentology’s business objectives. This role involves assessing existing IT infrastructure, identifying opportunities for cloud adoption, and recommending migration strategies based on cost, performance, and security considerations. The Cloud Architect defines cloud architecture principles, standards, and best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role designs scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automation techniques. Additionally, the role includes implementing cloud security measures, optimising resource utilisation and performance, and supporting the implementation of cloud-based solutions across AWS, Azure, and OCI platforms.

Cloud Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development ofΒ Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Β architectures

- Work withΒ Google Anthos, Kubernetes, and container-based architectures
- OptimizeΒ AWSΒ andΒ GCP cost and performance, ensuring efficiency across environments

Kafka and Kubernetes Platform Management:
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalableΒ Kafka and Kubernetes clustersΒ to support development and production environments
- Implement best practices forΒ Kafka and Kubernetes operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimizeΒ Kafka and Kubernetes infrastructureΒ to meet development team needs
Implementation:
- Implement cloud infrastructure components, includingΒ compute, storage, networking, and security services
- Ensure seamlessΒ integration with existing systemsΒ across multi-cloud platforms
Migration and Deployment:
- Assess and migrate on-premises applications to theΒ Google Cloud
- Develop and executeΒ cloud migration and deployment strategies, ensuring security and performance
- Work withΒ Terraform, Deployment Manager, and CloudFormationΒ for IaC-based deployments
Security and Compliance:
- ImplementΒ cloud security measuresΒ and ensure compliance withΒ ISO 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR, and other industry standards
- DefineΒ cloud architecture standards and best practicesΒ for aΒ secure cloud environment
Performance Optimization:
- Monitor and optimize cloud resources forΒ performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- ImplementΒ DevOps practicesΒ for streamlined deployment and operations
Troubleshooting and Support:
- ProvideΒ technical supportΒ for cloud infrastructure and services
- Troubleshoot and resolveΒ performance, availability, and security issues
- Support production environments and participate in aΒ 24×7 on-call rotationΒ when required
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- CreateΒ documentation and best practice guidesΒ for cloud environments
- Share knowledge with team members throughΒ training sessions and workshops

Education and Certifications:

Experience:
- 7+ years of experienceΒ in designing, implementing, and managingΒ cloud-based solutionsΒ across multiple cloud platforms
- Primary Expertise:Β Deep hands-on experience inΒ Google Cloud (GCP) and AWS
- Proven experienceΒ in designing and implementing cloud architectures and solutions
- Strong experience withΒ Apache Kafka, includingΒ setup, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency inΒ Kubernetes (GKE), including experience withΒ container orchestration, Helm charts, and Kubernetes operators
- Hands-on experience withΒ DevOps toolsΒ (e.g.,Β GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD) andΒ Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)Β (e.g.,Β Terraform, Ansible)
