Outback Spirit Tours offers a range of unique adventure tours and luxury short stays across our beautiful country. Our adventures capture the very essence of Australia, from the rugged red cliffs of the Kimberley to the unspoiled natural wonder of Tasmania, we bring iconic experiences to life. We operate 9 lodges in some of the most remote, inaccessible and beautiful locations. Our team of guides, drivers, camp and operations staff are passionate about the outdoors and take pride in bringing our guests on the adventure of a lifetime.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Supply Truck Driver to join the Outback Spirit team based out of our Darwin Depot for the remainder of the season.

This position will suit someone that wants to experience travelling on some of the most remote roads in the North Eastern part of the NT and can work away from home a minimum of 2 days per week.

In this essential role, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering goods and supplies to two of our Arnhem Land Locations being; Murwangi Safari Camp and Arnhem Land Barramundi Lodge.

This role provides you with a balanced work life ratio with weekends off and an average work week of up to 45 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely driving a truck to transport goods and supplies to Outback Spirit locations in Arnhem Land.
  • Maintaining and cleaning the truck as needed, including performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Loading and unloading cargo using proper equipment and techniques.
  • Effectively communicate with our warehouse and fleet management teams regarding inventory and shipping schedules, ensuring up to date records of deliveries and shipments are kept.
  • Following all safety protocols and procedures, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

ABOUT YOU:

You will be a proactive, and have experience in loading and unloading fuel, dry good and cold storage goods. You will have the ability and desire to work remotely with a strong mechanical aptitude and the drive to get the job done.

You will also need excellent communication skills to work closely with staff and suppliers, as well as a customer-focused approach to ensure smooth operations.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A valid Australian driver’s licence (essential).
  • HR driver’s licence - as a minimum (essential).
  • Forklift operator’s licence (essential).
  • Skilled in driving on unsealed roads, in unpredictable weather conditions and in remote locations - at least 2 years experience
  • Experience in loading and unloading fuel, cold and dry store
  • Willing to be away from home 2 nights per week
  • Road Ranger experience
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working remotely, and the ability to problem solve and work autonomously
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.
