Cover letter sample
Dear Hiring Team,
I am excited to apply for the User Acquisition Manager role at Ruby Labs. I bring hands-on performance marketing experience managing paid social acquisition campaigns, optimizing Meta and Snapchat activity against CPA, ROAS, and growth targets.
I am comfortable owning daily campaign execution across audiences, budgets, bids, placements, funnels, and creative tests, while using cohort and segmentation analysis to identify scalable opportunities. I also work effectively with creative and cross-functional partners to turn performance insights into stronger testing plans and measurable results.
I would welcome the opportunity to bring a disciplined, analytical, and proactive approach to Ruby Labs' fast-moving growth team. Thank you for your consideration.
Sample interview questions
I begin by validating tracking, attribution windows, conversion-event integrity, and any recent changes to landing pages, offers, creatives, or account settings. I then segment the decline by platform, campaign, geography, audience, placement, creative, and funnel stage to isolate the driver. I protect spend by reducing or pausing inefficient segments, shift budget toward stable performers, and launch focused tests before scaling the corrective action.
I use a structured test matrix that limits variables so results are interpretable. For creative testing, I test distinct concepts, hooks, formats, and messaging against a consistent audience and optimization event, then evaluate spend, CPA, CTR, CVR, and downstream ROAS. Winners are validated with additional spend and then adapted into new audiences, placements, or campaign structures for scaling.
I assess performance beyond top-line CPA by reviewing cohort conversion quality, retention, revenue, refunds where relevant, and ROAS by acquisition date. This helps distinguish cheap traffic from high-value users and informs decisions about targeting, optimization events, budget allocation, and acceptable CPA thresholds.
I monitor budget delivery, CPA, ROAS, frequency, CPM, CTR, conversion rate, and creative fatigue indicators at a cadence appropriate to spend and volatility. I set clear guardrails for pausing, reducing, or increasing budgets, and document meaningful changes so the team can separate normal fluctuation from actionable trends.
I would explain the performance insight in business terms, such as which concept, audience, or funnel stage is driving efficiency and why. I would provide specific creative recommendations, including winning hooks, visual patterns, claims, formats, and audience context, while agreeing on a prioritized testing backlog and feedback loop with the Creative Manager.
