About this role.
Five9 is seeking an individual-contributor Enterprise Sales Director to win new cloud contact center and CRM customers across the Southeast, with Georgia and the greater Atlanta market as the primary territory. The role owns the full enterprise sales cycle, from self-sourced pipeline creation and partner-channel engagement through forecasting, negotiation, and close. Candidates need at least seven years of outside enterprise software sales experience, executive-level selling ability, and a demonstrated hunter/closer mindset. Success depends on building a large pipeline quickly, exceeding quarterly and annual quotas, and coordinating effectively with BDRs, channel partners, implementation, and support teams. This is a fully remote US role, but candidates are required to reside in the greater Atlanta area.

Sample interview questions
I would begin with a territory plan that segments named accounts by contact-center complexity, growth signals, current technology stack, and partner influence. I would build multithreaded account maps, activate referral and channel relationships, align with the BDR on targeted outreach plays, and set weekly activity and pipeline-creation targets. I would review conversion metrics frequently and double down on the verticals and messages producing executive meetings.
I focus first on the customer’s business outcomes, such as improved customer experience, lower operating cost, agent productivity, resilience, or faster time to value. I identify the economic buyer, technical decision-makers, operational leaders, and potential champions, then tailor value messaging and proof points to each. Throughout the process, I maintain a mutual action plan that connects technical validation, security, procurement, and executive sponsorship to a clear business case.
I identify partners with trusted relationships, relevant implementation capability, and a clear incentive to collaborate in the target account. I establish joint account plans, clarify responsibilities for discovery and executive access, and maintain regular deal reviews to avoid gaps or duplicate outreach. The best partner motion adds credibility and expertise while helping the customer move confidently through evaluation and implementation planning.
I qualify each opportunity against verified business pain, stakeholder access, compelling event, technical fit, procurement path, and next steps. I update close dates and stage probability based on customer evidence rather than seller optimism, and I document risks early. In forecast reviews, I present a clear path to close, required executive actions, and realistic upside and downside scenarios.
In a stalled deal, I reassessed the buying committee and discovered that the operational team supported the solution but the economic buyer lacked a quantified business case. I coordinated a value workshop, documented financial and operational impact, and brought in an executive sponsor and implementation expert to address adoption concerns. By resetting the mutual action plan around the customer’s decision criteria, we regained momentum and closed the opportunity.
