Sample interview questions
I would segment the market by property type, size, current technology stack, and likely operational pain points. I would create targeted account lists, use a multichannel cadence of calls, email, social outreach, and local events, and prioritize accounts showing signals such as expansion, technology change, or revenue-management needs. I would review conversion metrics weekly and refine messaging and account prioritization based on results.
I would first understand the property's operating model, distribution channels, manual workflows, guest experience priorities, and commercial goals. I would ask about current-system limitations, integration requirements, decision process, timing, and success criteria. I would then connect the most relevant Cloudbeds capabilities to those stated challenges rather than delivering a generic product pitch.
I use a structured daily activity plan, clear call objectives, and disciplined follow-up to maintain momentum. I view rejection as information: I capture objections, test better messaging, and continue building multiple paths into priority accounts. Consistency, preparation, and measurement help me remain productive without taking individual outcomes personally.
I would acknowledge that implementation risk is a valid concern and ask what specifically worries them, such as data migration, staff adoption, downtime, or integrations. I would tailor the conversation to Cloudbeds' implementation approach, relevant integrations, onboarding resources, and examples of comparable properties. I would also align on a practical transition plan and measurable outcomes so the prospect can evaluate change against the cost of maintaining the current process.
I would listen for recurring integration requests, local service providers, technology vendors, and industry associations that influence multiple target customers. I would document the customer need, market reach, strategic fit, potential revenue impact, and any evidence of demand before sharing a concise business case with Partnerships. I would then coordinate follow-up while maintaining clear ownership of active sales opportunities.
