About this role.
This is an entry-level full-stack product engineering internship focused primarily on building Aedeon frontend features with React and Next.js. The intern will work under senior-engineer mentorship across feature development, test-case creation, release validation, documentation, and agile ceremonies. Candidates need foundational JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and React knowledge; prior professional experience is not required. The role emphasizes test-driven development, code quality, feedback, and learning how production software is delivered. Exposure to AWS, Git, Next.js, and automated testing tools such as Playwright or Cypress is advantageous.

Sample interview questions
I would first clarify the user flow, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and API dependencies. Then I would break the feature into small components and tasks, write or outline tests early, implement incrementally, and submit a documented pull request for review.
Unit tests verify a small isolated function or component. Integration tests verify that multiple components or services work together, while end-to-end tests validate a complete user journey in an environment close to the real application.
Hooks let functional components manage state and side effects. For example, useState manages local state, while useEffect can handle effects such as data loading, subscriptions, or synchronization with external systems.
I would investigate enough to describe the issue, its impact, and possible options, then raise it early with my mentor or team. I would document the blocker, ask for help where needed, and update the task plan rather than waiting until the deadline is close.
I would document the feature purpose, user behavior, technical approach, important decisions, configuration or dependencies, test coverage, known limitations, and steps for validating the release. This helps teammates understand and maintain the work without relying on verbal context.
About Mactores
Mactores is the agent-native AWS modernization firm. Most enterprise modernization stalls at pilots and handoffs; ours ships, production systems running, legacy retired, outcomes measured. Our delivery is built on Aedeon, the agent platform built by Mactores’ founders’ sister company, Aedeon Inc. Aedeon absorbs the repetitive 60–70% of engagement work, discovery, mapping, validation, test generation, while forward-deployed engineers own architecture, judgment, and cutover. Mactores is Aedeon’s flagship deployment partner: field delivery informs the platform roadmap, and the platform shapes how we deliver.
About Aedeon
Aedeon is the agent platform for enterprise modernization, built by Aedeon Inc., a separate product company founded by the same team that founded Mactores. Aedeon turns the systems already running a business applications, databases, data platforms, business rules, workflows into governed AI agents, grounded in a persistent Code Intelligence Graph of the customer’s own code and verified through behavior-equivalence proof. Aedeon is delivered as a product, not a services engagement, and runs without mandatory forward-deployed engineers.
This internship puts you inside the platform side of Aedeon: you’ll help build product features on the Aedeon frontend, working alongside senior full-stack engineers who will mentor you through the full delivery lifecycle, building features, writing test cases, and validating releases. You’ll get hands-on exposure to a real product with real enterprise customers, not a sandbox project.
What you’ll do?
Product development
Assist in designing, building, and maintaining features across the Aedeon frontend (React + Next.js) under the guidance of senior engineers.
Work with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to understand requirements and help take features from spec to shipped, tested release.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, and start building a product-first perspective.
Learning release discipline
Learn how features are owned end to end — from development through deployment and post-release validation.
Practice breaking down tasks against sprint timelines and flagging blockers early.
Shadow how the team coordinates with DevOps and QA to keep releases clean and repeatable.
Testing and quality
Learn test-driven development: write test cases before code, under mentor review.
Help write test cases for features you work on — functional flows, edge cases, and regression scenarios.
Get exposure to AI-assisted tools for generating test coverage, and to automated test suites (E2E, integration, unit) wired into CI/CD.
Collaboration and documentation
Write clear, well-documented code and submit pull requests for review.
Document your work features, test plans, decisions in Confluence or equivalent, in a way others can follow without you in the room.
