Sample interview questions
How would you turn customer feedback about a business application into an actionable product requirement?

I would first document the user's context, desired outcome, current workflow, and evidence of the problem. I would validate whether the feedback represents a broader persona need, then frame a problem statement, define success metrics, and write prioritized user stories with measurable acceptance criteria.

Describe how you would prioritize a set of feature requests from customers, engineering, and product leadership.

I would assess each request against strategic alignment, customer impact, reach, urgency, implementation effort, dependencies, and risk. I would make the trade-offs visible through a consistent prioritization framework, align stakeholders on the decision, and maintain a roadmap that explains both what is prioritized and why.

What is your approach to working with UX and engineering on a feature with an existing product pattern?

I would begin by clarifying the user problem and reviewing existing patterns, constraints, and relevant usage data. With UX, I would validate flows and wireframes; with engineering, I would clarify scope, technical dependencies, and acceptance criteria. I would keep decisions documented so the team can move efficiently while preserving a consistent user experience.

How would you evaluate whether a newly launched Business Application is successful?

I would establish success measures before launch, such as activation, task completion, adoption by the target persona, repeat usage, support volume, and qualitative user satisfaction. After launch, I would monitor the metrics against a baseline, collect targeted feedback, identify friction points, and propose iterative improvements based on evidence.

How do you communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business users?

I tailor the level of detail to the audience while keeping the underlying objective consistent. For technical teams, I provide precise requirements, edge cases, and acceptance criteria; for business users, I focus on workflows, outcomes, and trade-offs in accessible language. I confirm shared understanding through written artifacts, demos, and regular feedback loops.

In this role, you will balance structured technical delivery with customer-facing feedback collection, ensuring that well-defined features are successfully built, tested, and launched.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research: Conduct targeted market reviews, fact-finding, and customer insight exercises for your portfolio of products.
  • Feedback Collection: Run customer meetings to collect, document, and qualify user feedback.
  • Outreach Coordination: Assist in identifying and contacting relevant customers for structured outreach and feedback sessions.

Guided Product Scoping & Execution

  • Roadmap definition: Own the centralization of the product roadmap and priorities definition for your scope of products. Ensure you build the right consensus on priorities from all stakeholders incl. SVP Product and VP Engineering.
  • Feature Specification: Write clear user stories and functional requirements for pre-identified, simple product features, ensuring the development team understands immediate implementation goals.
  • UX Collaboration: Work closely with the UX/UI team to help map out wireframes and user flows based on existing product patterns and guidelines.
  • Development Support: Support the engineering and Technical Product Management (TPM) teams during development by explaining user stories and clarifying requirements.
  • Testing & Quality: Coordinate and execute basic test plans to validate features meet defined acceptance criteria before launch.

Launch Support & Tracking

  • Release Readiness: Own the delivery of all pre-launch materials, including feature documentation, release notes, and internal product demos.
  • Metric Tracking: Implement and track pre-defined KPIs and success metrics to monitor how new features perform post-launch.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in Product Management or as a Product Owner within an agile software development environment.
  • Core PM Skills: Proven foundational knowledge of the product management lifecycle, including a strong baseline ability to write clear user stories, define acceptance criteria, and manage a tactical backlog from day one.
  • Technical Requirements: Experience working with data tools, analytics platforms, or data science use cases. You must possess a solid understanding of data workflows and data science concepts to effectively communicate with our technical teams and users. Direct experience or familiarity with LLMs/GenAI, AI Agents, or building/managing plugin and extension ecosystems is a strong plus.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset that adapts well to international, cross-cultural team environments.
  • Growth Mindset: An eagerness to dive deep into new technical or business domains, actively seeking and applying feedback to grow as a product professional.
