About this role.
Supabase is seeking a Commercial Account Executive to grow adoption among developer-first startups across EMEA/Europe. The role owns the full sales cycle, including pipeline generation, technical discovery, solution positioning, demos with Sales Engineers, and closing. Success requires 2–5 years of technical sales experience, credibility with founders and engineers, and the ability to connect product capabilities to business outcomes. This is a remote, high-autonomy position within a fast-moving, open-source-focused company. The employee will work cross-functionally with Sales Engineering and Product while consistently meeting revenue targets.

Sample interview questions
I would first understand the product roadmap, current architecture, developer workflow, deployment constraints, and business goals. I would identify the pain points in the existing stack, quantify the impact where possible, and map Supabase capabilities such as Postgres, Auth, Storage, Realtime, and Edge Functions to the buyer's required outcomes. I would then align next steps around a focused technical evaluation with the appropriate stakeholders.
I would tailor the conversation to each stakeholder while maintaining one shared value narrative. For the engineering lead, I would focus on technical fit, developer experience, integration, security, scalability, and operational simplicity. For the founder, I would emphasize speed to market, reduced infrastructure overhead, cost control, and the strategic ability to keep the team focused on the product. I would bring both perspectives together around measurable outcomes and a practical evaluation plan.
I use a structured account and territory plan that combines inbound follow-up, targeted outbound outreach, partner signals, product usage indicators, and referrals. I prioritize accounts using fit, urgency, stakeholder access, and expansion potential, then maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and stage-based next steps. Regular pipeline reviews help me identify coverage gaps early and focus activity on opportunities most likely to progress.
In an ambiguous sales cycle, I establish a clear problem statement and document the decision criteria, stakeholders, risks, and timeline. I involve technical resources early when deeper validation is needed, use short proof points or demonstrations to test assumptions, and keep the customer aligned through concise recaps. This approach turns uncertainty into an actionable mutual plan while avoiding overpromising.
I would provide clear context before engagements, including the customer's use case, architecture, business drivers, stakeholders, objections, and desired next step. During the process, I would own commercial orchestration and relationship management while ensuring Sales Engineers can focus on technical validation. I would also capture recurring customer feedback and share it with Product to improve positioning, prioritize insights, and support a smoother onboarding experience.
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
