Core skills

Sample interview questions
How would you build and ramp a new team of 8–10 Field Account Executives in Munich?

I would begin by defining the ideal seller profile, territory coverage model, activity standards, and core sales process. I would hire against demonstrated field prospecting and consultative-selling capability, then run a structured onboarding program covering product, ICP, discovery, demos, objection handling, Salesforce hygiene, and field execution. Weekly coaching, call reviews, ride-alongs, and leading indicators would allow me to identify gaps early and accelerate ramp-up.

How do you balance hands-on field coaching with strategic leadership responsibilities?

I set a predictable operating cadence that protects time for both. I use field visits and joint customer meetings to observe behavior, model effective selling, and coach against specific skills, while dashboards and manager routines ensure pipeline, forecast, and hiring priorities remain visible. The goal is to be close enough to execution to improve it without becoming the bottleneck for the team.

What metrics would you use to manage an outbound field-sales organization?

I would track activity quality and volume, new qualified pipeline created, conversion rates by stage, sales-cycle length, average deal value, win rate, forecast accuracy, quota attainment, and CRM data completeness. I would segment these metrics by representative, territory, vertical, and source to understand where performance gaps originate. Leading indicators would guide coaching, while revenue and attainment measure business outcomes.

Describe your approach to forecasting revenue in Salesforce.

I maintain clear opportunity stage definitions, required fields, close-plan standards, and consistent inspection cadences. Forecasts should combine CRM data with rep judgment, deal evidence, historical conversion rates, and risk assessment rather than relying on optimism. I review material opportunities weekly, challenge assumptions constructively, and communicate upside, downside, and corrective actions transparently to leadership.

How would you sell a hospitality SaaS POS platform to a restaurant owner through outbound field sales?

I would start with a concise, relevant hypothesis about operational pain points such as fragmented ordering, payments, reporting, or multi-location management. Discovery would focus on the owner's workflow, growth plans, current technology limitations, and financial impact of inefficiencies. I would then tailor an on-site demonstration to the highest-value use cases, involve relevant stakeholders, address implementation concerns early, and agree on a specific next step with a clear mutual action plan.
