I would provide versioned, opinionated Terraform modules for common patterns such as services, networking, databases, IAM, and observability. Guardrails would be embedded through policy-as-code, least-privilege defaults, mandatory tags, remote state controls, pull-request plans, and automated security scanning. Teams could consume approved modules through documented interfaces, while platform engineering retains ownership of shared foundations and module lifecycle management.
I would require protected environments, scoped credentials, signed artifacts, immutable image tags, policy checks, and clear approval rules based on risk. Pipelines should run unit, integration, security, infrastructure, and deployment verification steps, then use progressive delivery with automatic rollback signals. Every automated action should be traceable through audit logs, ownership metadata, and observable release status.
I focus on consistent cluster baselines, declarative configuration, resilient networking, workload isolation, autoscaling, and tested disaster-recovery procedures. I would standardize add-ons and Helm releases, define regional failover expectations, monitor cluster and application service-level indicators, and routinely test recovery paths. The design should balance availability requirements with operational complexity and cost.
I would establish actionable service-level indicators and objectives for critical platform capabilities, then connect metrics, logs, traces, and deployment events for fast diagnosis. Alerts should have documented owners, severity definitions, runbooks, escalation paths, and regular tuning to reduce noise. I would also use incident learnings to improve dashboards, automate remediation where appropriate, and make platform health visible to engineering teams.
I would combine least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, infrastructure policy-as-code, image vulnerability scanning, and dependency controls. For the delivery path, I would use protected branches, short-lived credentials, artifact provenance, signed images, controlled registries, and admission policies in Kubernetes. Controls should be automated early in the workflow so secure behavior is the easiest path for developers.

The Team and Mission
You’d be joining our Infrastructure team within the Platform Engineering division.
We’re building an AI-native platform for our internal developers, over 150 of them, guided by a single question: does this shorten the time from idea to value, for the teams building on our platform and for the customers they ultimately serve?

What You’ll Do:
Design, build, and evolve our cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS) as code, using Terraform to keep every environment reproducible and legible to both engineers and agents
Build CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) with guardrails that make agentic releases safe by default
Manage and scale multi-region Kubernetes clusters
Maintain and evolve Helm charts and deployment workflows as reusable
Strengthen observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting, feeding signal back into AI-assisted remediation and define clear alert ownership
Harden infrastructure security, image scanning, policy-as-code, network segmentation, and firewall configuration
Partner closely with product engineering teams to support their infrastructure needs
Enable developers and agents to deploy and manage services independently
Participate in the on-call rotation
About You:
5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or software engineering
AI-forward: you hold everything you build to an AI-native standard
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP experience transfers well)
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and managing deployments
Proficient with Kubernetes in production environments
Experience with Docker and containerized applications
Experience with observability tools, including monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to support engineering teams
A strong communicator who can explain platform complexity and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders
Expert-level English, spoken and written.
