Sample interview questions
How do you build a pipeline when marketing and BDR leads are not sufficient to meet your target?

I segment the territory by ideal-customer profile, trigger events, and account potential, then create multithreaded outreach plans for priority accounts. I combine personalized outreach, partner and customer referrals, relevant industry events, and my network, while measuring conversion at each stage to improve the motion.

Describe your approach to running a value-based enterprise sales cycle.

I begin by identifying the customer’s business problem, current process, stakeholders, and measurable impact. I align the solution to agreed success metrics, build a mutual action plan, validate technical and commercial requirements early, and continuously connect the business case to the executive sponsor’s priorities.

How would you sell a procurement platform to a buying committee involving procurement, finance, IT, and legal?

I would tailor the message to each function while maintaining one shared business case. Procurement may prioritize compliance and intake efficiency, finance may focus on spend visibility and savings, IT on integration and security, and legal on controls and supplier risk; I would use these inputs to build consensus and identify a strong executive champion.

Tell me about a time you overcame a blocker in a complex deal.

In a complex deal, I would first determine whether the blocker is related to value, authority, timing, technical risk, or commercial terms. I would then re-engage the relevant stakeholder with targeted evidence, mobilize internal resources where needed, and update the mutual action plan so ownership, milestones, and decision criteria are explicit.

How do you maintain forecast accuracy in a rapidly changing sales environment?

I use defined stage-exit criteria, verify next steps directly with buyers, and distinguish customer-confirmed facts from seller assumptions. I inspect deal health weekly, document risks and stakeholders in the CRM, and forecast conservatively based on validated timing, business case, and procurement process.
