Sample interview questions
I would explain the customer problem, the API and data-model design, the React user experience, and how I validated the release. I would also describe trade-offs made, monitoring added, and the measurable outcome for users or the business.
I would start by tracing a small production workflow through the repository, local environment, tests, and observability tools. I would pair with experienced teammates, take on a scoped change, follow existing idioms, and use code review to quickly build confidence in Go conventions and service design.
I would prioritize clear service-level objectives, structured logging, metrics, tracing, capacity testing, safe database access patterns, and resilient failure handling. For changes, I would use automated tests, incremental rollout methods, dashboards, and a rollback plan.
I use AI tools to accelerate exploration, implementation, and test generation, but I remain accountable for the result. I verify logic against requirements, review security and edge cases, run tests and linters, inspect generated dependencies, and make sure the final code fits the team’s architecture and style.
I clarify the user impact, deadline, operational risk, and reversibility of the decision. I then propose the smallest safe solution that meets the immediate need, document intentional shortcuts, and create a prioritized follow-up plan for any technical debt.

About the role
We’re hiring a Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. You’ll work across the whole stack: customer-facing features in React and TypeScript, Go services that process security data at internet scale, and the plumbing that keeps it all secure and reliable. You’ll ship real work in your first weeks with a senior engineer as your buddy, and your scope will grow as you’re ready for it. You don’t need to know cybersecurity yet, but you do need to be curious about it.
You’ll join one of our 11 (and growing) Product Engineering squads, most of which have a product manager, designer and technical lead alongside the engineers.
Our stack is React and TypeScript on the front end, Go services with Postgres as our primary database, running on Kubernetes via Google Cloud Platform.
Our engineers work with agentic coding tools, mostly Claude Code and Cursor, and a growing part of the product is LLM-backed. You’ll work this way from day one, and we’ll want your ideas on what to automate next, from how we write code to how we test, review, ship and run it.

Go deep on the cybersecurity domain; it’s one of the best parts of the job
Grow toward senior, with increasing scope as you’re ready and a manager focused on getting you there
What we’re looking for
Typically 2+ years of relevant engineering experience
Strong TypeScript and React
A backend language you’re productive in (we use Go)
Solid relational database skills (we use Postgres)
AI coding tools as your default workflow, and the judgment to review and own what they produce
Pragmatic trade-offs: you weigh technical quality against what the business needs now
Low ego, high care: you’re in it for the product and the customer, not just the code
