Sample interview questions
How would you prioritize brokers and consultants in a new Northeast territory?

I would segment partners by employer-book fit, influence in the 50–199 life segment, existing healthcare-benefits relationships, geographic coverage, and demonstrated willingness to introduce innovative solutions. I would then build account plans for high-potential partners, establish a regular engagement cadence, and track introductions, opportunities, conversion rates, and production to refine priorities.

Tell us about a time you created pipeline without relying on marketing-generated leads.

In a prior role, I mapped target accounts and referral sources, developed tailored outreach tied to each prospect’s business priorities, and used a structured follow-up cadence across email, phone, and partner introductions. I tracked conversion by source in the CRM, doubled down on the highest-performing motions, and consistently produced a pipeline sufficient to support my quota.

How would you communicate Garner’s value proposition to a benefits broker?

I would focus on the broker’s goal of helping clients improve benefits outcomes while controlling costs. I would explain how Garner identifies high-performing physicians through proprietary clinical metrics and uses incentives to guide members toward better care, positioning the solution as a measurable way to strengthen an employer’s benefits strategy.

How do you manage a complex sales process from first meeting through close?

I establish mutual action plans with clear stakeholders, decision criteria, milestones, and next steps. I maintain rigorous CRM hygiene, surface risks early, coordinate internal resources around the buyer’s timeline, and confirm commercial, implementation, and legal requirements before asking for a close.

How do you stay accountable in a high-autonomy, fast-paced sales environment?

I use leading indicators such as partner meetings, activated referral sources, qualified pipeline creation, stage conversion, and forecast accuracy to manage performance before end-of-quarter results. I review those metrics weekly, identify gaps quickly, and adjust activity, messaging, or account strategy while keeping leadership informed of material risks and opportunities.

What you’ll be part of

Garner is on a mission to transform the U.S. healthcare system — and we’re the only proven player doing exactly that. We partner with employers to redesign how healthcare works: applying 550+ proprietary clinical metrics across 80+ specialties to a dataset of 320M+ patients to identify the best-performing doctors, then using compelling incentives to steer members to the care that helps them get healthier, faster.

The result is a rare “win win” — better care and lower costs for both members and employers. In just five years, our work has helped over 2.5 million people access higher-quality care and saved $1B in healthcare costs. We recently raised our Series E and have doubled five years running. If you’ve ever wanted your work to solve a problem that touches every person in this country, this is the opportunity to do exactly that.
