Sample interview questions
How would you develop a measurement framework for an enterprise client that uses affiliate, influencer, paid media, and CRM channels?

I would begin with the client’s business objectives, decision use cases, and available data quality. I would establish common outcome metrics such as incremental revenue, customer acquisition, lifetime value, and contribution margin; then define the appropriate blend of attribution, controlled incrementality tests, and MMM. I would document assumptions, data gaps, governance, and a phased roadmap so stakeholders can make decisions before the measurement program is fully mature.

Describe how you would explain the limitations of last-click attribution to a non-technical executive audience.

I would explain that last-click reporting gives full credit to the final interaction before a conversion, much like crediting only the person who crossed the finish line for winning a relay race. It is useful for operational reporting, but it can understate channels that create awareness or assist consideration. I would pair this explanation with a practical recommendation to use last-click alongside incrementality testing, cohort analysis, and broader modeling rather than replacing it overnight.

What approach would you use to assess whether an affiliate or influencer partner is generating incremental value?

I would first define the partner’s expected role in the customer journey and identify a credible comparison group. Depending on scale and data availability, I would use geographic, audience, timing, or holdout testing, supported by matched-market or propensity methods where randomization is not possible. I would evaluate incremental conversions, revenue, customer quality, and margin rather than relying solely on tracked conversions or attributed revenue.

How have you turned an analytical finding into a commercial recommendation for a senior client stakeholder?

I structure the narrative around the business decision, the evidence, the financial implication, and the recommended action. For example, rather than presenting a dashboard of channel metrics, I would show that a segment of partners produces higher-LTV customers but is underfunded, quantify the opportunity and risk, and propose a controlled investment plan with clear success criteria. This keeps the discussion focused on action rather than methodology alone.

How would you build data literacy across account management, strategy, and sales teams?

I would create role-specific enablement rather than a one-size-fits-all analytics program. Account teams would learn how to interpret client reporting and challenge assumptions, strategists would focus on measurement design and test planning, and sales teams would learn to articulate the commercial value of AP’s data capabilities. I would reinforce training with practical playbooks, office hours, reusable templates, and examples from active client work.
