Sample interview questions
I begin by understanding the customer's reason for leaving, such as price, coverage concerns, or service experience. I review the current policy, explain relevant coverage options in plain language, and re-shop or recommend appropriate alternatives when needed. I document the interaction and establish a clear follow-up plan so the customer receives timely support.
I treat cross-selling as a needs-based service rather than a scripted add-on. After resolving the customer's primary concern, I identify coverage gaps or life changes that may make an additional product valuable, explain the benefit clearly, and let the customer make an informed decision. This approach protects trust while supporting retention and sales outcomes.
I document the reason for contact, policy details discussed, actions completed, customer preferences, and next steps immediately after the interaction. I use consistent note formats and task reminders to ensure promised follow-ups are completed. Accurate records help maintain compliance, continuity, and a strong customer experience.
I avoid jargon and start with the customer’s real-life concern, then explain what the coverage does, what it may not cover, and any available options using simple examples. I pause to confirm understanding and invite questions before moving forward. My goal is for the customer to feel informed rather than pressured.
I manage targets through strong preparation, active listening, and reliable follow-up rather than rushing conversations. I review performance trends, use feedback from quality reviews, and refine my approach to improve both conversion and customer outcomes. Maintaining compliant, accurate, and helpful conversations is essential to sustainable performance.
