Sample interview questions
Describe a complex Intelligence Community SaaS deal you closed and how you navigated the acquisition process.

I would explain the customer mission, stakeholders, procurement vehicle, security or ATO milestones, partner roles, and the account plan used to create executive alignment. I would quantify the result and identify how I maintained deal control through contracting and close.

How would you build a multi-year growth plan for Mattermost within an IC agency?

I would map mission organizations, current deployments, acquisition stakeholders, technical sponsors, and adjacent program offices. I would connect Mattermost capabilities to modernization, zero-trust, DevSecOps, and secure-collaboration priorities, then sequence renewals, expansions, and net-new pursuits against funding and contract timelines.

How do you work with cleared federal systems integrators without losing ownership of the deal?

I establish a joint account plan with explicit roles, mutual value, milestones, and executive sponsors. I use the integrator's contract access, capture resources, and program relationships while retaining direct customer alignment, maintaining opportunity governance, and documenting next steps in Salesforce.

What steps do you take to forecast a large federal opportunity accurately?

I validate the customer problem, sponsor strength, technical and security approvals, funding source, procurement path, competitive position, partner dependencies, and contracting timeline. I assign forecast stages only when evidence supports them and communicate risks, mitigation actions, and close-date confidence clearly to leadership.

How would you position secure collaboration software in a classified or controlled environment?

I would begin with mission outcomes and operational constraints, then demonstrate how deployment flexibility, data control, interoperability, and security support the customer's workflow. I would engage technical, security, mission, and acquisition stakeholders early to address accreditation requirements and build a practical adoption path.
