Sample interview questions
I would begin by defining throughput, latency, consistency, and security requirements, then design stateless API services behind load balancing with asynchronous workflows for slower third-party checks. I would use bounded concurrency, timeouts, retries with backoff, idempotency keys, observability, and durable event storage to maintain reliability under load.
I minimize shared mutable state, use channels when ownership transfer is clearer than locking, and use mutexes only around tightly scoped critical sections. I also run the race detector, write concurrent load tests, define cancellation behavior with contexts, and ensure goroutines have clear lifecycle and cleanup paths.
I would establish latency and availability SLOs, identify dependencies on the critical path, and use caching, connection pooling, efficient serialization, and regional redundancy where appropriate. I would also implement circuit breakers, graceful degradation, health checks, and dashboards that expose p95/p99 latency, error rates, saturation, and dependency health.
I apply least-privilege access controls, strong authentication and authorization, input validation, secret management, encryption in transit and at rest, and dependency scanning. For identity-related data, I also prioritize audit logging, data minimization, secure retention policies, and threat modeling during design reviews.
I combine timely, constructive code reviews with pairing sessions and clear design documentation so engineers understand both the implementation and the reasoning. I delegate appropriately sized ownership areas, set explicit quality expectations, and use retrospectives to turn recurring issues into shared engineering improvements.
About this role.
Why Socure?
Socure is building the identity trust infrastructure for the digital economy — verifying 100% of good identities in real time and stopping fraud before it starts. The mission is big, the problems are complex, and the impact is felt by businesses, governments, and millions of people every day.

Produce enterprise-class documentation for internal and external collaboration
Break down complex tasks into manageable components, plan, and execute effectively
Collaborate with team members to elevate technology standards and consistently apply best practices
Participate actively in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions
Job Requirements:
5-7 years of significant hands-on coding experience with Golang, preferably in a product development environment
Strong programming and design fundamentals, with excellent problem-solving and coding skills
Exceptional analytical and reasoning abilities, with a talent for visualizing processes and outcomes
Passion for continuous learning and growth while building high-performance systems, with a solid understanding of concurrency and multi-threading
Experience architecting microservices and developing RESTful APIs
Prior experience with high-throughput, low-latency storage, cloud computing, NoSQL databases, big data analytics, machine learning services, or large-scale systems is a plus
