The role, at a glance.
Infisical is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build and extend its open-source security infrastructure platform for secrets management, PKI, PAM, and KMS. The role centers on shipping full-stack product capabilities using React, Node.js, and TypeScript while collaborating closely with the CTO, engineering team, and enterprise customers. The engineer will address broad security and developer-tooling challenges, including secret rotation, dynamic secrets, cloud integrations, secure access gateways, and emerging AI applications. This is a remote role for candidates in the stated eligible locations who can work US hours, with strong ownership, rapid iteration, and customer communication expected.

Sample interview questions
I would begin by defining the secret types, owning systems, rotation intervals, and failure modes. I would design an auditable workflow that creates or retrieves a new credential, validates it, distributes it through least-privilege access paths, supports a grace period where appropriate, and safely revokes the prior credential. I would also include idempotency, retry handling, alerting, and clear rollback procedures so rotation is reliable at scale.
I would first clarify the customer problem, security requirements, API contract, and acceptance criteria. I would model shared types carefully, implement authorization and validation at the server boundary, then build an accessible React workflow that handles loading, success, and failure states. I would add targeted unit and integration tests, instrument key events, and ship behind an appropriate rollout or feature-flag strategy.
I identify the irreversible decisions and risks first, gather the smallest amount of information needed to move forward, and document assumptions explicitly. I favor a simple, observable implementation that can be iterated on, while involving relevant stakeholders when the decision affects security, customer workflows, or system architecture. After shipping, I use user feedback and operational data to validate or revise the approach.
Core practices include strong authentication, fine-grained authorization, encryption in transit and at rest, secure key handling, tamper-evident audit logs, and careful tenant isolation. I would avoid exposing secret material in logs, errors, analytics, or client-side state, validate all inputs, and use threat modeling for sensitive workflows. Regular dependency management, security testing, and review of privilege boundaries are also essential.
I would first understand the underlying use case, business impact, and security constraints rather than immediately accepting the requested implementation. I would evaluate whether the need can be addressed through configuration, an integration, or a generalized product capability, and communicate trade-offs transparently to the customer and internal team. If a custom path is necessary, I would define clear scope, maintainability expectations, and safeguards to prevent it from weakening the core platform.
About this role.
Infisical is the open source security infrastructure platform that engineers use for secrets management, certificates, and privileged access management. We help developers and organizations securely manage billions of secrets every month including application configuration, database credentials, certificates, and more.
We’ve raised $19M from Y Combinator, Google, and Elad Gil, and our customers include Hugging Face, OpenRouter, LG, and NVIDIA.
Join us on a mission to make security easier for all developers — starting with secrets management. We’re looking to hire exceptional talent to join us in building the open source security infrastructure stack for the AI era.
About the role
We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Full Stack Engineer to help us build, optimize, and expand the foundation of the platform.
We’ve kept our hiring standards exceptionally high since we expect engineers to tackle a broad range of challenges on a day-to-day basis. Examples of past engineering initiatives include developing strategies for secret rotation and dynamic secrets, a gateway to provide secure access to private resources, protocols like EST and KMIP, integrations for syncing secrets across cloud providers, and entire new product lines such as Infisical PKI and Infisical PAM.
You’ll be working closely with our CTO and the rest of the engineering team to:
Develop and maintain features whilst communicating directly with enterprise customers.
Expand our newer Infisical PKI, Infisical PAM, and Infisical KMS product lines.
Experiment with novel approaches for applying AI to secrets management and more broadly security infrastructure.
Requirements
Deep technical mastery of the JavaScript ecosystem, particularly React.js, Node.js, and TypeScript (3+).
Exceptional attention to detail and eager to learn.
A bias toward action—able to make decisions with incomplete information, iterate quickly, and take calculated risks.
Based in the Americas (US or Canada), Brazil, India, UK, or EU. Must work US hours.
Nice to have
Expertise in Go.
Has some understanding of devops/developer tools.
Previous founder or startup experience.
Previous experience building in open source or developer tools in either a professional or personal setting.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with customers directly.
