The role, at a glance.
This fixed-term technical support role serves as the first point of contact for sales-team order-processing issues in Salesforce. The specialist will troubleshoot validation errors, incorrect field values, order-processing failures, and configuration-related issues through Slack and Zendesk. Core work includes reproducing issues, isolating root causes, documenting resolutions, accurately tagging tickets, and escalating when necessary. The position requires hands-on Salesforce Sales Cloud experience, strong written English, and two to three years of real-time technical customer support experience. NetSuite, SQL or BigQuery, Jira, and B2B SaaS or hosting experience are beneficial.

Sample interview questions
I would first review the order, opportunity, account, quote, and related fields for validation messages, missing values, and incorrect selections. I would reproduce the issue when possible, compare it with a successful order, identify the likely cause, guide the user through the correction, and document the resolution or escalate it with clear evidence.
I avoid technical jargon and explain the business impact first, then provide concise, numbered steps to correct the issue. For example, I would explain that the order cannot proceed because a required billing field is incomplete, show where to update it, and confirm the outcome after the user resubmits.
An escalation should include the record links or IDs, the user’s reported impact, exact error text, steps already taken, reproduction steps, screenshots where appropriate, expected versus actual behavior, and urgency. This enables the next team to investigate without repeating initial triage.
I would identify repeated issue patterns, create clear knowledge-base articles with symptoms and step-by-step resolutions, and use consistent ticket tags for reporting. I would also share recurring trends with operations or system owners so underlying workflow, training, or configuration gaps can be addressed.
I prioritize based on business impact, time sensitivity, and the number of users or deals affected. A widespread processing failure or issue blocking a time-sensitive order comes first, while I keep requesters informed of status and set expectations for lower-impact tickets.
