Sample interview questions
I would first align stakeholders on common pipeline stages, coverage metrics, forecast categories, and definitions of committed versus upside revenue. I would validate source-system quality, create repeatable reporting, define a review cadence, and track forecast accuracy over time to identify where process or model adjustments are needed.
I would clarify the decision the analysis must support, then segment conversion trends by period, region, segment, source, product, sales stage, and representative tenure. After validating the data and identifying the largest drivers, I would communicate the findings with a concise narrative, relevant visualizations, and prioritized actions to test or implement.
I document each metric's business definition, calculation logic, source tables, refresh cadence, owners, and known limitations. I also reconcile key measures with Finance and operational systems, use version control for reporting logic, and establish a review process when definitions or source data change.
I use AI-assisted development to accelerate drafting and reviewing reporting scripts, data transformations, documentation, and quality checks, while retaining human validation of business logic and outputs. The goal is to reduce repetitive manual work, improve reproducibility, and give analysts more time for interpretation and stakeholder partnership.
I would present the forecast transparently by explaining the inputs, assumptions, historical accuracy, confidence range, and key sensitivities. I would invite sales leadership to validate field context, incorporate substantiated changes where appropriate, and frame the discussion around actions that can improve outcomes rather than treating the model as the sole authority.
