Sample interview questions
How would you build a net-new enterprise pipeline for Grafana Labs in Italy?

I would segment the territory by ideal customer profile, observability maturity, cloud footprint, and strategic industries. I would combine account research, multithreaded outreach, partner signals, events, and relevant open-source engagement to create tailored messages tied to reliability, incident response, and telemetry-cost challenges. I would inspect conversion metrics weekly and adjust activity, messaging, and account prioritization based on pipeline quality rather than volume alone.

Describe how you run a consultative discovery conversation with a technical buyer.

I begin by understanding the customer's operating goals, current architecture, observability workflows, incident patterns, and the cost or risk of the status quo. I ask follow-up questions to identify business impact, technical decision criteria, stakeholders, and timing before positioning a solution. I then connect the relevant capabilities to their priorities and validate value with the customer rather than delivering a generic product pitch.

How do you manage a complex sales opportunity with multiple stakeholders?

I map the buying committee early, including technical evaluators, champions, economic buyers, procurement, security, and potential blockers. I establish a mutual action plan with clear milestones for evaluation, proof of concept, security review, commercial alignment, and decision timing. Throughout the cycle, I confirm pain, value, decision process, and competition using a qualification framework such as MEDDICC, while keeping CRM records current.

How would you position Grafana Cloud to a prospect already using several monitoring tools?

I would first understand the role each current tool plays and where fragmentation creates operational friction, blind spots, duplicated cost, or slower incident response. I would position Grafana Cloud around unified visibility across metrics, logs, traces, and profiles, along with interoperability and open standards rather than forcing a rip-and-replace conversation. A focused proof of concept would demonstrate measurable outcomes against the prospect's real use cases.

What actions would you take if you were behind quota midway through a quarter?

I would review my pipeline by stage, close date, qualification quality, next steps, and probability to identify which gaps are recoverable. I would increase targeted prospecting into prioritized accounts, re-engage stalled opportunities with value-based outreach, and seek manager or specialist support for strategic deals. I would maintain transparent forecasting and focus on advancing validated opportunities while continuing to build coverage for future quarters.
