Sample interview questions
I would first identify the underlying job, regulatory obligation, and affected user segment behind each request rather than prioritize stated solutions. I would score opportunities using a transparent framework covering customer impact, regulatory urgency, strategic fit, reach, effort, and evidence strength, then validate assumptions through additional interviews. I would document the rationale and tradeoffs so leadership and clients understand why items are sequenced as they are.
I would define target personas across compliance, AML operations, risk, and regulatory teams, then recruit a diverse group across banks, VASPs, and relevant jurisdictions. I would establish a recurring research cadence, consent and incentive practices, structured interview guides, and a repository that links evidence to product decisions. The panel would supplement client feedback so roadmap decisions are not disproportionately driven by a single large customer.
I would clarify the triggering regulatory, operational, or risk-management problem and map the current workflow, decision points, data sources, and success measures. I would test whether the requested feature addresses the root cause and evaluate dependencies such as blockchain data quality, alert logic, case management, and auditability. I would then define the smallest valuable solution, measurable outcomes, and any jurisdiction-specific requirements before prioritizing it.
I would ensure both teams agree on the customer problem, expected outcome, constraints, and evidence before debating implementation. I would ask engineering to surface technical risks, alternatives, and effort estimates, then compare options against customer value, compliance urgency, and long-term platform health. If a tradeoff remains necessary, I would make the decision criteria explicit and communicate the resulting roadmap impact to stakeholders.
An effective presentation starts with the audience's regulatory and operational objectives rather than product features. I would use credible workflows, clear controls, evidence trails, and practical examples to show how the product supports risk management and oversight. I would also be direct about limitations, implementation requirements, and governance considerations, because these audiences value clarity and trust over promotional messaging.

About the role
CertiK works with banks, regulators and regulated financial institutions that adopt digital assets. We build regulatory technology for these markets, and we are hiring a lead product manager to own what we build next for these clients.
You will gather client needs directly and through our client-facing consultants, turn them into a clear, prioritized roadmap, and present our products to clients, prospects and regulators in North America and, when needed, abroad. Inside the company, you represent the customer.
What you’ll do
Run discovery with clients and prospects, on site and remotely, and work closely with the solutions consultants to set the agenda for what they learn in the field
Build and run a discovery channel of your own: a panel of compliance, risk and operations practitioners at banks, VASPs and regulators for structured (including paid) interviews, so requirements never depend on a single client
Convert client conversations and consultant findings into actionable, prioritized product and feature decisions, with the reason behind each request documented, and defend the ranking to leadership
Present CertiK’s products and services to client teams, prospects and regulators in demos, workshops and tender presentations
Join Business Development and consultants on key client visits, primarily in the US, with occasional travel to Europe, the Middle East and other markets
Own the roadmap conversation with the CEO, Business Development and Engineering
Requirements
5–8 years in B2B product management, ideally in fintech, regtech, compliance software or at a regulated financial institution
Domain experience in financial crime, AML or transaction monitoring, blockchain intelligence, or risk and surveillance products, whether as a product manager or from inside a compliance function
Has led complete product cycles from discovery to launch in a regulated or enterprise domain, with demonstrated ability to identify the underlying need behind a client’s stated request and show how it changed what was built
Native or fully proficient English, with professional presentation skills to senior compliance, risk and regulatory audiences
Established prioritization framework and a record of turning customer input into shipped features
Sufficient technical fluency to challenge engineering decisions and hold a position under pushback
Directs discovery through others as well as first-hand: part of the customer input comes via consultants, and the role sets their agenda
Regular travel within the US and international travel as required
Bonus points
- Prior product experience at a blockchain intelligence or crypto compliance platform
Familiarity with FATF, Travel Rule, sanctions or MiCA-type requirements as they apply to digital assets
Familiarity with US, UK or EU digital asset regulation
Experience working with regulators or on regulatory tenders
