Sample interview questions
How do you structure an in-practice training session for a team that is new to intraoral scanning?

I begin with a readiness assessment covering equipment, workflows, team roles, and clinical goals. I set clear outcomes, demonstrate the workflow, facilitate supervised hands-on practice, and coach each participant based on live observation. I close with an action plan, success measures, and follow-up steps that reinforce early case submission.

Describe how you would respond when a clinician is hesitant to adopt a new digital workflow.

I would first understand the source of hesitation, such as clinical confidence, perceived time impact, prior technology experiences, or team capacity. I would connect the workflow to the clinician's goals, provide practical demonstrations, and create low-risk opportunities for early success. Ongoing coaching and measurable progress help turn initial skepticism into confidence.

What indicators would you monitor in the first 30 days after training?

I would monitor scan and case-submission activity, workflow adherence, quality or rescan trends, support needs, team engagement, and blockers reported by the practice. I would use those indicators to identify where targeted coaching or additional resources can accelerate adoption. The findings should also be shared internally to improve future onboarding and training materials.

How do you tailor training for different audiences, from dental assistants to executive stakeholders?

For clinical staff, I focus on hands-on workflow execution, troubleshooting, and confidence-building. For practice leaders, I emphasize implementation readiness, team accountability, operational impact, and adoption metrics. For executive stakeholders, I communicate concise business outcomes, risks, and the plan for achieving sustainable practice-wide usage.

How would you manage a training day when equipment or staffing issues arise unexpectedly?

I would quickly assess the issue, prioritize patient-safe and high-value learning activities, and adjust the agenda without losing sight of the desired outcome. If equipment is unavailable, I would use demonstrations, workflow walkthroughs, role-based coaching, and readiness work while coordinating the appropriate internal support. I would document the blocker, establish ownership for next steps, and schedule follow-up to complete any deferred hands-on training.
