The role, at a glance.
This is a part-time contract Lead Developer / Architect role focused on building and leading a Solana-based Web3 gaming platform. The hire will own technical architecture, guide sprint delivery, and contribute hands-on across the full stack. Core work includes secure wallet and transaction integrations, blockchain security practices, and implementation of casino, poker, slots, or fantasy-sports mechanics. Candidates need demonstrated technical leadership, Solana expertise, full-stack development experience, gaming-domain knowledge, and strong English communication. Rust, Anchor, TypeScript, React or Next.js, and provably fair RNG experience are valued additions.

Sample interview questions
I would keep private-key handling entirely client-side through established wallet adapters, clearly separate transaction construction from signing, validate all critical rules on-chain, and use simulation, confirmation monitoring, and idempotent backend workflows. I would also assess program permissions, rate limits, logging, error handling, and user-facing transaction status to reduce both security and usability risks.
I start by mapping the current architecture, deployment process, technical debt, product risks, and team ownership. I then define a practical target architecture, document decision records, break the roadmap into deliverable increments, and run sprint rituals that keep priorities, dependencies, and quality expectations visible. I remain hands-on in high-risk areas while enabling engineers to own well-defined components.
I would make game rules and settlement logic deterministic and auditable on-chain where feasible, use secure randomness approaches appropriate to Solana, and ensure outcomes can be independently verified. For provably fair flows, I would use commitment and reveal patterns or a trusted verifiable randomness source, preserve audit records, and test edge cases such as retries, failed transactions, and concurrent play.
I would identify the highest-risk transaction paths first and establish non-negotiable controls such as authorization checks, input validation, program tests, code review, monitoring, and staged releases. Lower-risk UI or workflow improvements can move quickly behind feature flags, while financial or game-settlement logic receives deeper testing and security review. This risk-based approach preserves momentum without compromising player funds or platform integrity.
I would frame the discussion around product goals, evidence, delivery risk, security, and long-term maintenance rather than personal preference. After gathering alternatives, I would run a short technical spike or prototype when needed, document the decision and tradeoffs, and communicate the final direction clearly. This creates alignment while ensuring the team can revisit the choice if new evidence emerges.
