Sample interview questions
I would begin by mapping the workflow, business rules, failure modes, and acceptance criteria with product and engineering. I would prioritize API and integration coverage for critical transaction states, add end-to-end tests for essential user journeys, define negative and boundary cases, and use risk-based regression suites in CI/CD.
I automate stable, repeatable, high-risk, and frequently executed scenarios, especially regression and API validation. I use manual exploratory testing for new or rapidly changing features, usability concerns, unusual edge cases, and areas where automation would be costly before the product behavior has stabilized.
I would validate authentication, authorization, schemas, status codes, error contracts, idempotency, pagination, rate limits, and data integrity. I would also test malformed inputs, timeouts, dependency failures, retries, concurrency, and observability so that failures can be diagnosed quickly.
I would evaluate it using representative tasks and measurable outcomes such as accuracy, repeatability, false-positive rates, security, cost, latency, and maintainability. I would keep human review for high-impact outputs, use controlled test data, and compare the tool’s results against established test cases and production-quality standards.
I provide a concise title, environment details, reproducible steps, expected and actual results, supporting evidence, severity, and user or business impact. I also clarify whether the issue is deterministic, identify relevant logs or request IDs, and collaborate on priority rather than treating severity as a unilateral decision.
About this role.
About us:
Airtm is a financial-infrastructure company building the future of the online-work economy. We are on a mission to empower the world’s growing number of Digital Entrepreneurs in the Global South, giving them the financial freedom to thrive.
The problem is clear: in emerging markets, accessing the dollar economy is difficult. Cross-border payments are slow, expensive, and often lose value to inflation. This limits the potential of millions of talented individuals.
Airtm’s solution is a swift and comprehensive financial platform that facilitates low-value cross-border payments and local cash-outs. As pioneers in stablecoin-payment infrastructure, Airtm has built the most advanced cross-border payment system available on the market.
As a company married to the world of online work, Airtm will go beyond payments to build the necessary infrastructure the online-work economy needs to thrive. We are fostering an entirely new economy, giving individuals, communities, and countries the tools to take control of their financial destinies.
