Sample interview questions
How do you build a territory plan for a new cybersecurity sales region?

I segment the territory by ideal customer profile, industry risk exposure, existing technology environment, and buying potential. I prioritize target accounts, establish prospecting and pipeline targets, map stakeholders, and review results regularly to refine the plan.

Describe how you would explain a cybersecurity solution to a non-technical executive.

I would begin with the executive's business risks, such as exposure, operational disruption, compliance, or resource constraints. I would then connect the product's capabilities to measurable outcomes, using straightforward language and relevant customer examples rather than technical jargon.

What actions do you take when your pipeline is below target?

I review conversion rates and pipeline coverage by stage to identify the constraint. I then increase focused outbound activity, reactivate qualified dormant opportunities, work with partners where appropriate, and schedule regular pipeline reviews to protect forecast quality.

How do you maintain an accurate sales forecast?

I use clear exit criteria for every pipeline stage, validate customer timelines and decision processes, and document risks and next steps in the CRM. I separate committed opportunities from upside and update the forecast promptly when deal conditions change.

Tell us about your approach to handling a competitor in a customer opportunity.

I first identify the customer's decision criteria and the competitor's perceived strengths. I position differentiated value against the customer's specific security and business needs, use evidence such as demonstrations or customer outcomes, and avoid unsupported claims about competing products.
