Sample interview questions
Describe a pricing change you introduced that improved revenue or ARPU.

I would explain the commercial problem, the data used to identify the opportunity, the pricing action taken, and the measured impact on ARPU, conversion, retention, and margin. I would also describe how I monitored unintended effects and adjusted the rollout.

How would you evaluate whether a market needs a price reset?

I would compare willingness-to-pay signals, win and loss data, discounting patterns, package adoption, competitor context, retention, and conversion by customer segment. I would form hypotheses, quantify upside and risk, then validate the change through a controlled pilot where feasible.

How do you align sales and GTM leaders when they disagree with a pricing recommendation?

I would make the trade-offs explicit using a concise fact base, including expected revenue, conversion, and retention effects. I would listen to local market context, identify points that can be tested, and propose a decision framework with owners, targets, and review dates.

What SQL analysis would you perform to investigate an unexpected ARPU decline?

I would segment ARPU by market, cohort, acquisition channel, package, customer type, discount level, sales team, and renewal status. Then I would isolate whether the decline comes from price realization, mix shift, churn, downgrades, or data-quality issues and prioritize the largest controllable driver.

How do you decide when to stop analyzing and start testing a pricing hypothesis?

I start testing once the hypothesis is commercially meaningful, the available data supports a plausible mechanism, risks are bounded, and success metrics are clear. I avoid waiting for perfect certainty by using limited pilots, guardrails, and predefined decision thresholds.

Job Description

This role is remote within Brazil

Your main project is the listing-based pricing rollout across markets. You’ll diagnose what’s working, propose fixes, get local and global teams on board, and roll out to new countries with clear targets and a steady weekly cadence. You’ll also shape how the model evolves for next year.

You’ll own the ARPU (average revenue per user) target for the segment. Alongside the main project, you’ll:

  • Move the ARPU target through specific pricing moves: tighter discount discipline, package mix shifts, price resets by market. Dig into anomalies fast.

  • Spot pricing opportunities across the marketplace that no one’s looking at, and make the case for them.

  • Own the segment’s pricing recommendations to GTM leadership: propose the moves, defend the trade-offs with data, turn decisions into rollout plans.

  • Drive alignment across sales, local commercial, and global teams on contested pricing calls, without formal authority.

  • Generate optimization hypotheses grounded in data.

  • Design and run behavioral experiments to validate pricing moves before scaling them.

  • Adjust and follow up on budget assumptions as we learn from the market.

  • Maintain country price lists in our internal systems.

Qualifications

What will help you thrive?

  • 5+ years in pricing, ideally SaaS or marketplace

  • Direct experience working with GTM or sales leaders on pricing decisions

  • Thorough with data. You back conclusions with numbers.

  • Comfort with ambiguity: you know when to stop analyzing and start testing

  • Ability to explain complex numbers simply

  • SQL good enough to pull your own data

  • Strong Google Sheets skills

  • Professional English, comfortable in meetings and writing (B2 or above)

  • Degree in economics, math, business, or similar
