Sample interview questions
I establish clear study-specific expectations, verify that required training is completed, and review monitoring outputs for quality and consistency. I use performance trends, co-monitoring observations, and timely follow-up to identify gaps early, document corrective actions, and escalate material risks to the project team.
I first assess the root cause using recruitment metrics, monitoring findings, site feedback, and protocol requirements. I then create a focused action plan with the CRA and site, such as refresher training, recruitment tools, data-cleaning priorities, and defined follow-up dates, while escalating risks when timelines or patient safety may be affected.
I look for a clear account of site activity, protocol compliance, patient safety considerations, data and document status, identified issues, and appropriately documented follow-up actions. I also confirm that the report reflects the monitoring plan, supports timely resolution of findings, and provides an accurate view of site risk and performance.
I provide practical, study-specific coaching through report feedback, co-monitoring, regular check-ins, and targeted training. I set clear expectations, use objective performance indicators, recognize strengths, and address development areas with actionable plans and documented follow-up.
I prioritize according to patient safety, regulatory impact, study timelines, and dependency on other teams. I maintain a visible tracker, communicate risks and ownership early, and reassess priorities regularly so urgent site issues are resolved without losing control of planned deliverables.
