Sample interview questions
Describe how you would structure a first in-practice training session for a dental team adopting an intraoral scanner.

I would start by understanding the practice's current workflow, case mix, roles, and goals. I would demonstrate the scanner in a relevant clinical context, guide each user through supervised practice, and connect each step to a practical outcome such as better case submission quality. I would finish with clear next actions, ownership, and a follow-up plan for the first submitted cases.

How do you build trust with a clinician who is skeptical of changing from traditional workflows?

I begin by listening to the clinician's concerns and identifying whether they relate to clinical quality, time, reliability, or team readiness. I then use a consultative approach, demonstrate an applicable workflow, and create a low-risk opportunity for hands-on success. Trust grows when I respect clinical expertise, avoid one-size-fits-all advice, and follow through on agreed support.

Tell us about a time you adapted training in real time because a customer team was struggling.

In a live training, I would first identify whether the barrier is technical, workflow-related, or confidence-based. I would simplify the session, focus on the highest-value use case, provide additional guided practice, and adjust the pace for the team. Afterward, I would document the obstacle and coordinate targeted follow-up so the practice can progress without feeling overwhelmed.

What metrics would you use to assess whether a practice is successfully adopting a new digital workflow in its first 30 days?

I would track early case submissions, scan quality, completion rates, time to first successful case, user engagement, and recurring workflow blockers. I would combine these operational signals with qualitative feedback from clinicians and staff. This helps distinguish a technical issue from a training or change-management need and enables focused coaching.

How would you manage a schedule involving up to 80% travel while maintaining high-quality customer follow-up?

I would use disciplined territory planning, cluster visits geographically, and reserve structured time for preparation and post-training follow-up. I would document each practice's goals, risks, and next steps immediately after visits, then use a consistent cadence for checking outcomes. Clear communication with internal partners ensures customers receive coordinated support even while I am traveling.
