Sample interview questions
How do you maintain visual consistency while designing for several partner brands with different guidelines?

I start by documenting each brand’s non-negotiable rules, such as typography, color, imagery, voice, and required disclosures. I organize reusable Figma libraries and project-specific checklists so that I can work quickly while ensuring every asset is reviewed against the correct brand system before delivery.

Describe your process for taking a direct-mail piece from concept to vendor-ready production files.

I confirm the format, postal and vendor specifications, bleed, trim, safe areas, color requirements, variable-data needs, and proofing process upfront. I then build the artwork in InDesign, package linked assets and fonts as required, run preflight checks, export the correct press-ready PDF, and review proofs carefully before approval.

How do you manage conflicting feedback from marketing, product, legal, compliance, and an external partner?

I consolidate feedback into one prioritized tracker and identify conflicts early rather than applying comments in isolation. I clarify the decision owner, distinguish mandatory compliance edits from preference-based changes, propose clear options when needed, and communicate status and trade-offs proactively.

What accessibility practices do you apply to web and email marketing design?

I consider contrast ratios, legible type sizing, information hierarchy, descriptive link treatment, non-color visual cues, and layouts that remain usable at different screen sizes. For email, I also collaborate with developers to ensure semantic structure, alt text, and accessible rendering are addressed in implementation.

How would you approach designing an acquisition landing page for a co-branded credit-card program?

I would begin with the campaign objective, audience, value proposition, offer requirements, and compliance constraints. I would create a focused responsive layout with a clear CTA, benefit-led hierarchy, trust signals, required disclosures, and modular components that can be adapted to the partner’s brand while supporting testing and performance measurement.

About this role.

Who We Are

Imprint helps the world’s best brands grow the lifetime value of their customers. We started with co-branded credit cards and rebuilt them to be smarter, more rewarding, and brand-first. We partner with companies like Crate & Barrel, Rakuten, Booking.com, H-E-B, Fetch, and Shell to launch modern credit programs that deepen loyalty, unlock savings, and drive growth. But the card is just the beginning. We combine advanced payments infrastructure, intelligent underwriting, and deep customer data to create delightful and personalized experiences for members as well as efficient and profitable relationships for our brand partners. Our robust technology and world-class operations allow us and our brand partners to offer powerful financial products without becoming a bank.

In the U.S., co-branded cards alone account for over $300 billion in annual spend, and most still run on decades-old legacy bank systems. Imprint is the modern alternative: flexible, embeddable, and built for how people actually pay today. Backed by Kleiner Perkins, Thrive Capital, Ribbit, and Khosla Ventures, we’re building a world-class team to redefine how people pay and how brands grow. If you want to move fast, solve hard problems, and own real outcomes, we want to meet you.

This role is for an experienced marketing designer who thrives in high-velocity, multi-stakeholder environments and can manage competing priorities without losing the details.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Design Team, you will work collaboratively with Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams across a variety of strategic campaign and lifecycle needs:

  • Design marketing assets across digital, physical, and performance channels for multiple co-branded partner programs, including:

    • Digital: emails, web banners, in-app promotions, push notifications, social posts

    • Performance: landing pages, paid media creatives, promotional campaigns

    • Physical: direct mail pieces, in-store signage, mailers, flyers, postcards — including print production, prepress, and vendor-ready file preparation

    • Brand: partner collateral, presentation templates, co-branded materials

  • Work fluently across multiple partner brand systems and translating creative briefs through each partner’s unique guidelines, visual identity, and brand voice

  • Design acquisition landing pages

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product and marketing initiatives, managing feedback from both internal stakeholders and external partners

  • Navigate partner review and compliance approval workflows, incorporating feedback from legal, compliance, and partner brand teams

  • Uphold a high bar and own the quality of everything that goes out the door maintaining standards across every partner program

  • Contribute to and maintain design systems and libraries to ensure consistency and scalability across multiple brands

  • Support production workflows including content packaging for translation, asset prep and output, deeplink setup, QR code and UTM generation

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design and production, ideally supporting multiple brands or product lines simultaneously

  • Strong visual design skills and portfolio of work

  • Deep experience working within and across multiple brand guidelines — comfort managing the cognitive load of switching between distinct brand systems

  • Proficient in Figma (primary design tool), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Solid understanding of responsive web and mobile design, UX principles, email design, digital advertising, and social media

  • Strong print design and production skills and experience preparing direct mail, signage, and collateral for print, including prepress file preparation and vendor specifications

  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple concurrent projects

  • Clear, proactive communicator who provides regular updates without prompting and can navigate multi-stakeholder feedback loops (internal teams, external partners, compliance)

  • Extremely responsive working independently in a remote environment

  • Attention to detail, high-quality execution, and ability to prioritize in a fast-moving, high-volume production environment

  • Experience with accessibility standards for web and email (WCAG)

Preferred:

  • Experience in fintech, banking, credit cards, or other regulated industries where legal and compliance review is part of the creative process

  • Familiarity with lifecycle marketing concepts and understanding how design supports acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention

  • Experience with or interest in AI-assisted design workflows and maintaining brand quality standards for AI-generated content

  • Experience working with Braze
